Agree I think he’ll go but I’m surprised that we haven’t heard anything about Scott returning. What’s he doing now ?
Didnt Charlie say in his interview with the Dossier that Andy Scott will be in a Technical Director type role, when talking about us not getting a conventional CEO?

On a related matter, I assume Sandgaard junior is offski?  Not seen anything official.
Left a few weeks ago I think.

That's the recruitment improving then, and as if anyone else would give him an analyst job 🤣

In fairness the takeover was only announced Friday night. I expect we’ll hear about a few comings and goings off the pitch in the next few weeks.

Wasn't Scott responsible for the January signings ?

Who was responsible for the budget?  Quite a coincidence we signed a former player who we nearly signed in August as well.

Wouldn't lay the blame, or praise, at anyone persons door.

Probably for the best. I think that drawing a line and moving on is best for both the club and Gallen. God knows he's probably seen and worked in some mad, bad and just plain weird circumstances to varying success rates but personally I wish him well.

His best work came when there was less interference .  Thanks, Steve

Done very well under LB, perhaps with his help. Since then it’s been very meh regardless of the interference. Hopefully we are onto bigger and better things.
  • Good luck to him.

Some good signings, some bad but it worried me that he didn’t know who Ellis Simms was and had to be encouraged by Palace to look at taking JRS on loan. Wish him well but not particularly bothered.

The combo of Gallen and Bowyer worked so well in 2018, when you consider the squad we put out against Sunderland on Day One, vs the squad we had at Wembley.

Shame they both had a shitstorm to deal with thereafter.

Hope that Steve isn't heading to QPR as looks like another mess there.

Burger Boy next please fellas, for different reasons

Really liked him and he really did put the work in. His contacts would have been useful I think but my trust in him had dwindled. Think it’s positive for both parties to move on but I’ll always like him and respect him.

Steve is a top fella, i've spoken with him throughout his time and Charlton and he truly took the club to heart. I think he wants the move to QPR so this does suit everyone but personally i do feel for him. Was never given a budget or an opportunity to recruit and make us true contenders without interference.

Gallen probably wanted out for a while, be interested to know how much influence he’s had in this window so far because it seems on paper like a good window.

Will always hold him in high regard for his part in helping us land some great signings to help us get promoted and once promoted too. A shame we probably never got to see his full potential with a good budget and a solid ownership.

Also felt like his impact and effectiveness were reduced the moment MS got involved.

All being said, wish him well for the future and would love to hear his thoughts on his time at the club one day.

Who is going to sign Leko again now?!?!?!

seriously though, did a decent job given the circumstances. Will always be grateful that he got Conor Gallagher in. Wish the fella well in the future.

Will miss his openness, friendliness and care. I would have been interested to see what he could have done under the new ownership and hopefully a bit of stability, as his workload was overseen by a bunch of loonie toons? He pulled in some quality and some duds, but if this transfer game was easy, nobody would ever find an edge over others. Thanks Steve for your patience and hard work and friendliness to us fans. Despite it not being my responsibility at all, sorry you had to deal with so many owner twats while serving our great club and hope your kid(s) keep supporting the Addicks! Good luck for the future and I will buy you a drink when we next hopefully see you in the lounges - please do come back to say hello! PC

Nice bloke but seemed at his best dealing with clubs over loans & fees and not at actually spotting talent.

Wish him all the best but life moves on.

At the recent Valley return dinner he came up to the Valley Party table and said thank you as we might not have had a club without you. Nice fella - good luck Steve.
Yes that was really good of him and was clearly totally off his own bat. He certainly cared.

Cynically his salary is now going to the preferred associates / colleagues / appointees of the new consortium and we can’t afford both.

Optimistically it’s mutually beneficial and he has a better option lined up for himself.
