You'd have thought the crew would taken one look at the passengers list and thought fuck this for a game of soldiers and had it on their toes.

Speculation on the radio that Prigozhin might have been on a second plane.
  • I don't want to link the Twitter thread this is quoted from, as it includes images from Russian media that I don't want to share, but this is from a western security expert who lives in Kyiv and I've found to be a fairly reliable source and not prone to getting over-excited. He'd spent an hour or so saying "hold on, we're not certain he was on board" up until this.
Pretty much every source in Russia, pro-Wagner, anti-Wagner, Russian state, Russian 'opposition', and the Wagner 'Council Of Commanders' is now confirming that Yevgeny Prigozhin and Dmitry Utkin are both dead.

He must have got on that plane thinking, "I'm glad i refused the tea!"

It would be a very sensible thing to do, considering what he did a couple of months ago.

The sensible thing would have been to get on the train!

You'd think he'd be clever enough not to get on a plane within Russia

I think I'm getting confused now.  This doesn't seem to be going quite the same as the usual RIPs. (That would be Rest In Pieces in this case presumably?)

Don't you just hate it when planes run into missiles like that?

Putin's Russia, a parody of a very bad discarded paperback thriller found in a cardboard box whilst clearing out a recently deceased uncles flat...

that it took Putin that long to take him out.

I think him and the plane agreed to this crash and it was therefore consensual and all charges should be dropped and he should continue his career as a number 9.

    Sorry, wrong thread

So, just after the "crash" we finally sign a striker.

Not saying Prigozhin was the shareholder blocking the deal but I have absolutely no criticism of Global Football Partners and never have.

Overstepped the mark with Putin it was only a matter of time until he got killed

When he waged war on Putin you wondered how it would go if he didn't see it through

For him to turn back and then take the "protection" offered to him was so obviously foolhardy!  I find it odd that someone so successful and previously so careful didn't see this coming when literally the rest of the world knew it was only a matter of time.

Yet Putin will sit there and deny all knowledge...and get away with it,

The Kremiln's official coroner's report stated clearly that the deaths were caused by a plane accident which was due to an unavoidable, fatal combination of aircraft design defects, instrument flight errors, faulty glide slope indicators, poor weather conditions and mistakes by crew members.  This is a remarkably efficient and accurate assessment by the coroner, who should be commended for the speed and accuracy of his report, which was published an hour before take-off.
