What's wrong with Dan Cowley? 754 games managed, 379 wins, 175 draws, 200 losses. 50% win rate overall
Latest gig at Pompey: 97 games, 42 wins, 27 draws and 28 losses.
He's vastly more experienced than Dean Holden and more likely to get us out of the league than some of the names mentioned. Pompey fans will probably give pelters but they've still managed 4 draws this season without him.
I actually like the sound of that, at the very least we won't be lingering at the bottom of the table3 -
Can't say I've ever been impressed watching a Cowley side the way I have other managers in L1. He strikes me as someone still living off past glories and on his way back down.16

Sounds ideal for us then 😉7 -
The ideal "Interim" appointment would have been Curbs, not Chrissy Powell.
It would have give the whole place a massive lift. If it didn't work out, he wouldn't have been there long enough to destroy his previous reputation.
But if it did work out, well then Curbs could make the decision to either continue to enjoy retirement, or take on the huge task of the Permanent Manager role.
The basics of football don't change, and we can't even do the basics ATM.
Curbs would be the man to get that right.
Any modern day tactical knowledge that Curbs lacks, could be compensated for with the appointment of a younger, more knowledgeable assistant.

Bowyer has zero interest in anything but himself , he was happy to take the Range Rover and whatever strange contract ESI gave him with their make believe money, which is fair enough but he’d leave after a day if wet spam or we all hate Leeds scum knocked on the door
All the good players were Bowyer scouted or was it Gallen
Ive got him in the Stuart Pearce initial up and at em bounce mode but won’t ever work long term and will need a lot better player for us to sniff promotion .
It’s a no from me8 -

I’m pretty sure whoever they appoint , whoever is signed , we’ll not be in the top two divisions any time soon

If Bowyer is the limit of ambition then that’s disappointing0 -

It is as toxic on here, as it is in the club4 -
Wouldn't mind Cowley brothers, but would prob mean we would lose to Pompey this year!
I think they would sort the defence out, and we might not get much exciting attacking football!
Personally, I would like to Leam Richardson or Nathan Jones.

Richardson feels like the sensible pick - got Wigan out of this league as champions and worked under their weird Bahraini owners. Didn't realise he was sacked 2 weeks after signing a 3 year extension 😳
No one I've seen talk about them has ever had a bad word to say about the Cowley's as people but I just find their style of play incredibly dour.3 -

I know expectations are set to low, but really?!
We’re nearly bottom of league 2 with a poor squad and no manager at the end of August. It would be odd if expectations were sky high . I do wonder who you might prefer ?1 -

All this talk of returning ex managers. Is Riga the only one who actually has? An earlier manager did, but no others in my lifetime I don't think.
Edit - Oh and just for the record, in throwing a tantrum, whoever comes through the door, I'm done, whatever that's supposed to mean and what all who say it don't .

I work in Portsmouth and have a few Pompey supporting mates. They referred to the Cowley’s as the PE teachers and whilst they talked a lot of technical drivel, the evidence on the pitch was that their football wasn’t much better than you would get from a PE teacher.7

When was the last time anyone fav according to the bookmakers got the job and I am talking across the board ….0

The longer I think about it, putting aside my love for Sir Chis who I would have in a heartbeat, Leam Richardson seems to me to be the perfect fit. That Wigan side were excellent and I was furious for him at the time he got sacked for Wigan. It all unravelled very fast after his departure as well with a supposed big name in Kolo Toure.
I think we’re a good proposition for him too.I have respect for the Cowley’s but I don’t want them as our manager. I also don’t think they fit the criteria Andy Scott will be looking for based on his previous appointments at other clubs who were all more ball playing managers.3 -

Nathan Jones or Leam Richardson. Both perfectly gettable and infinitely more ambitious than bringing back former managers.5 -

I think all this thread proves is that whoever is finally appointed as manager, not everyone is going to be happy.
And if it's Lee Johnson or Neil Lennon, absolutely nobody will be happy.
Leam Richardson seems to be the only option where i haven't seen someone say they wouldn't want him.8 -
Big couple of days for the new regime. I can’t see us having a good deadline day if we don’t have a manager appointed tomorrow at the latest1

Hopefully a Katrien Miere day of interviews today12
