Probably end up with Paul Ince Lol1

Second and third stage interviews??
It's a professional football managers job!
Their CV is there for all to see?
So if..... No when he or she turns out to be shit they can say "Well. they did well in the interview".
Another f*******g nonsense.3 -

There's none of the (realistic) names mentioned so far that I have come remotely close to thinking "if its [name here] I'm done", I'd prefer a younger upcomer to one of the hoary "established" names but I can see the arguments for most suggestions so far.
The likes of Appleton, Crowley etc might not be the names to have me imagining promotion at a canter but having a bit of experience and stability is not the worst result when we started out on relegation form.

Genuinely wouldn’t have an issue with Cowley. Seems the most likely1

Cowley is a good manager at this level, people who wouldn’t take him have delusions of grandeur about us as a club15

Getting someone like Parker or Jones having managed in the PL recently would be a good coup for us0

I can think of a lot worse choices as manager than Cowley although it certainly wouldn't inspire me.
I just find him a bit dull.7 -

Cowley did an absolute shocking job at Pompey. I really don’t know who I want out of the likely ones it’s going to be. Just gotta crack on and get behind him 😐3

Finding the massive averse response to the Cowleys a little bit weird if I’m honest. They’re not my first choice either but some of you are acting as if the club is doomed with them.39

Don`t you have to find two salaries if the Cowleys are chosen? That puts it out of range to start with.2

I think the reaction is because we’ve tried all the different styles in the last 17 years:
Former favourite and legend- Powell ✔️
Hard nosed, authoritarian- Bowyer ✔️
Foreign coach- loads ✔️
Foreign non league coach- Fraeye ✔️
Progressive up and coming manager- Garner ✔️
No dickheads nice guy northerner- Holden ✔️
Guess it’s time we went for vanilla, bland, lower league bloke with connection to Greenwich.
I really think we could expect to push the boat out fo Jones though. This idea that he’s unreachable is odd.

I wonder if Ryan Giggs might return to management again ?5

A lot of moaning on this thread.
Let's just wait and see who gets the job and get behind him.
Whoever it is it won't please everyone, but as we are now firmly established in league one we are hardly going to attract the best are we.14 -
cafcfan said:Right, Scott Parker. If he comes, I go. It will be my last season. It's not even that I hate him, although I do.
It's because he's just a little bit thick. He lacks every skill set a decent manager needs. Inspirational qualities; tactical nous; luck; man management skills; leadership; and coaching skills. He has none of these in my opinion and have I mentioned that he is a dullard?
In addition, with his choice of cardigans, it would be impossible for any player to look at him and not laugh rather than take him seriously.
