Which isn't necessarily a bad thing but you'd like one in before the weekend so they at least have a week to prepare for Stevenage1 -
NabySarr said:City Football Group is a pretty good place to be looking for a manager. Liam Manning (now at Oxford) came from them, they wouldn’t be working for CFG unless they are a very good coach0

Just returned from Mumbai having holidayed there last week and can confirm that I saw Charlie Methven in salmon chino shorts (it was hot), riding an elephant towards Des Buckingham’s kutcha house whilst playing Red Red Robin on a sitar.
Didn’t think much of it at the time and didn’t post it here as I thought none of you would believe me.
But now it makes sense.37 -

Personally, I would take a hungry young talented coach over someone like Appleton, so if we did make a serious attempt at Buckingham then fair play. Unfortunately, we will prob still end up with Appleton.3

All this talk of Des Buckingham reminds me of when Congo Chris was linked with the job though ultimately joined as an assistant in the end.
If this was Roland everybody would be calling out trying to get someone like Buckingham in as an experiment. We're into our 4th year in league one and probably a 5th year if we don't get relegated.
Whatever happened to going for the best available? Be it the manager or players instead of kids/loans/unknowns/merry go round managers.
Just bring Bowyer home.2 -
soapboxsam said:Cafc43v3r said:The reason there is no discipline at the club and hasn't been for 3 years is because the players know the manager isn't actually in charge of anything.
If he upsets them they can just down tools and wait for them to be sacked.
That's the root of it and has been the case since the international break before we played Gillingham away under Bowyer.
And that is different at other Clubs ?
Since Bosman the power is with players but I don't believe its worse at cafc than other clubs but when on a losing run all the boils burst and it's not a pretty site. The pus hits the fans.
Perhaps we need to analyse how Luton, Coventry and Bournemouth managed to come back from the National League in Luton's case and League 2 in Coventry and Bournemouth's case.
Compare that to us who have had 4 managers in 3 years and have got rid of nearly all of the players we signed last summer !!0 -
Move on.0

This is why I’m big on Richardson, young smart manager, has done the job in this division11

Who the f*ck is Congo Chris?2
-
So far as we know we have asked to speak with or offered the job to Ferguson, Challinor and now Buckingham none of them got a mention by the ITK crew.
so I’m still holding onto the hope it’s not Appleton but somebody not yet mentioned.0 -

If Buckingham wants the move will they stop him though? He will need to move on a some point if he's that highly rated0

We have had enough cowboys at the club and now we are turning to the Indians10 -

Alright he's gone the league undefeated or whatever but none of us know the quality of the league, the players, the competition. Presumably as they're part of the City group they had the biggest budget.
There are managers good enough and available in this country, go and convince them, not some chap who is managing what will probably be equal to national League standard or worse1 -
Read an article recently on des Buckingham and actually thought he looks very promising, would be a good appt. In my eyes.
shame it’s not a…goa34 -
