Just noticed that Everton have 8 English players in their starting line up, seems pretty unusual these days.

    Definitely better than Rooney’s

Do they realise they're actually protesting in the eleventh minute, not the tenth?

Yes. Up there with Andy Cole vs Leicester as far as Utd overhead kicks go
  • Martial was looking for that all day long

Agree, not a pen for me. Young was withdrawing his leg.
  • If you dangle a leg or foot in the box , as a defender, you are asking for a forward to trip over it. If it happened against us you'd all be screaming for a penalty.
  • Rashford took the penalty really well. That might be the turning point for him because he has been this season a shadow of the player that performed so well last term. In fact, his career has been very much like that in recent times with one excellent season followed by a distinctly average one.
  • Lovely pass and finish for 0-3.

I think we can safely say Eric Dier's Spurs career is done.

He's on the bench today and they're playing Emerson Royal and Ben Davies at centre back!
I must admit, I was surprised.  But it sounds as though Levy wants him gone in January before his contract is up next June.  Maybe had forced Ange's hand a bit.  Thats just my hunch.  I haven't seen any of the pre/post game stuff.

Roy Keane summing Spurs up as “Spursy” made me chuckle. 😂
How we came out of that game with nothing yesterday is beyond me.  On another day, we would have been 5 or 6 up in the first 20 mins but thats football.  Thats arguably the best we've looked all season up to the point PEH came on for Bentancur.

Such a shame Bentancur had to come off, he looked back to his best before Matt Cash smashed him.  Cash has got a habit of doing that to Spurs players.  Lo Celso was head and shoulders above everyone on both sides, didn't misplace a pass for the first 75 mins and then his legs went, not a surprise given how little he's played at that pace.

On to City.  Jeez, thats going to be fun lol.
  • Another dodgy pen in Fulham Wolves game. Ref has clearly given it thinking VAR will sort it out.

Desperately needs to move away from Old Trafford if he's to get back some consistency in his form I think. Could see him at Newcastle but they already have Gordon and Barnes in a similar position. If he could play down the right he'd be a big upgrade on Almiron for them.

That’s more of a pen than the last one that was given!

Very harsh just like the first Fulham one. VAR again doing Wolves no favours.
  • I look forward to playing Wolves in the 3rd round of the FA Cup, as we win 2-0 thanks to 2 dodgy penalties!

    Let's get past Gillingham first.

Feels like Wolves have been done by VAR more than the rest put together
  • Not sure where to post this but see Phil Jagielka retired. It made me think - I am sure he was strongly linked with us whilst he was at Sheff Utd during the Curbs years. Would have definitely been a classic Curbs player and the sort we would have signed back then. Thank god we didn't - he would have retired injured 18 years ago otherwise!
  • Injuries or no injuries, Newcastle are slaughtering Man Utd even if the score is only 1-0. So far, they have had 19 shots with 4 on target and United have had 2 shots and 1 on target.

Nick Pope sadly joining the treatment table by the looks of things
  • Nick Pope off injured with what sadly looks a dislocated shoulder. Fortunately for Newcastle, because of their existing dozen players out already, they have two keepers on the bench.
  • If ever there was a means of determining where Man United are as a team, then one only has to look at who they have beaten and lost to (utilising Everton's position without the 10 point deduction):

    Arsenal (1st) Lost 3-1
    Man City (2nd) Lost 3-0
    Newcastle (5th) Lost 1-0
    Tottenham (6th) Lost 2-0
    Brighton (8th) Lost 3-1
    Brentford (10th) Won 2-1
    Everton (11th) Won 3-0
    Palace (12th) Lost 1-0
    Wolves (14th) Won 1-0
    Fulham (15th) Won 1-0
    Nott'm F (16th) Won 3-2
    Luton (18th) Won 1-0
    Burnley (19th) Won 2-1
    Sheff United (20th) Won 1-0

So United have lost all five matches against a top 8 side, seven of their eight wins have been by just a single goal and they've only scored 16 goals in their 14 matches. Not bad for a club with the second highest net spend (over £400m) over the course of the last three seasons. Their embarrassment is only tempered by the even more woeful performances of the biggest net spenders, Chelsea.
