Council already said they'd provide for the affected households though, and I'm fairly sure a resident that's moved into a flat that isn't then actually accessible for them would want to see something done about it, drastic as it may beSuedeAdidas said:The difference is that this would make all of the residents homeless.3 -
I work as a banker funding property, incl residential development - how on earth Investec and their monitoring surveyor have funded this when clearly the developer is not building to the agreed planning permission is unbelievable - that said, the planning system in this country is broken, it’s a complete mess - I have seen schemes where the local authority has told my client ‘thanks for submitting paperwork to show that you have attended to all the pre-commencement conditions, but you won’t get them signed off, we don’t have the staff to do that’ - we had to make a judgement call whether to lend or not (we did after our monitoring surveyor assured us all was well) - another client of mine has been waiting for over a year for their application to put up an electronic advertising board, the planning dept haven’t even assigned a planning officer to the case yet !!1

Not sure that Greenwich will be under a statutory duty to find homes for the tenants who will have to leave if the enforcement is upheld. Though I'm still betting that the building won't be coming down.0

If any of these are privately owned, how on earth did it get past solicitors?1

The first UK McDonalds opened in Powis Street, Woolwich this week in 1974.
Quite an amusing article below from employee Ian.
"One day the manager came up to me and said: 'Have you considered a career at McDonald's?' I casually said 'no' and he responded: 'You should. I earn £11,000 and I drive a Datsun Sunny!'

Datsun Sunny also a bit of a stretch, along with that £1,100 lucky enough to run a Lada.

In the good old days they were always known as a good payer, but £11k translates to about £100k now and I don't think they were that good.Raith_C_Chattonell said:The first UK McDonalds opened in Powis Street, Woolwich this week in 1974.

One of my old school friends took a job in McDonalds in 1976 after he left school. He now owns five franchises and is a millionaire, Rodney

It seems like all they ever focus on around the shops, is replacing the paving.1
-
Most of the property along Powis Street is owned by one property company. Before they took over the previous owners were more intent on getting tenants in the flats above the shops than increasing trade.R0TW said:It seems like all they ever focus on around the shops, is replacing the paving.0 -

A fascinating case.
Not specifically about Woolwich - although one unsavoury character moved away from Woolwich after being shot at. His Woodford haven proved to be no safer.
The location of an ipad buried in the sand of the Thames foreshore just downstream from the O2 provided vital information to the case.
This would make a great TV series.

A child has allegedly fallen in to the Thames at the Woolwich ferry with a major search underway now in case anyone local is wondering why all the activity.
Really hoping for a good outcome.2
