Good opening ten minutes, maybe could have scored but we didn’t miss any gilt edge chances and didn’t work the keeper, but after that Rovers grew into the game and we have been on the back foot since then. No complaint about Jones or Hector booking, Campbell unlucky with his, but maybe He tor could have gone. Despite what Terry says I don’t think the ref has done much wrong from our point of view but I reckon Rovers will feel aggrieved.

Need to get forward more second half but ultimately still think we will narrowly lose.

Games gone soft. Didn't touch him.

I am watching my first game of this season.

Do you guys realise how bad we are?

It’s a question of whether like a frog in a pot of water on the fire you guys may not realise how hot the water is getting.

I don’t want to be negative but fck me bad tackles, bad through balls, bad hold up play, bad possession/passing. Dobson full of industry but not great on distribution . That’s the best I can do .

    Dismal.
  • This is not a response by a side that has been fired up by a manager after two terrible performances. Running around a bit and every now and then trying to make a tackle is not fooling people who understand football. This is a team led by an incompetent manager with players half trying. Team selection and tactics handicapping and chance of attacking football. The lack of basic skill - control and passing - 'demonstrated' in the last 4 halves of football are barely believable. Anderson is going to get robbed of the ball for the 20th time in the second half and they will score. A midfield without quality and let's have it right, Dobson in recent weeks is half the player we know he can be. And to think we let Albie Morgan leave - a kid that gave a shit and was one of our own.
  • Can't come back on second half with Hector on the field, he was lucky not to be off already, we will end up with 10 men otherwise, you can rely on Marquis to guarantee that...

The formation for this set of players does not work

I don't care about what formation sides that get promoted usually play.

    They didn't have our players.

Our 3 with Campbell in there doesn't work.  What does he actually bring to the side?

May spent most of the last 30 minutes on the edge of our box.  Criminal.  Truly criminal.
  • After playing relatively well in recent games, both our CBs are struggling tonight.

Hector lucky to be on the pitch, Jones at fault for the disallowed goal.

Second best all over the pitch at the moment and chasing shadows left, right, and centre.

We have to change shape. Kanu is trying but he’s not going to be able to hold the ball up when he’s on his own vs 3 centre backs. May is utterly wasted on the right and Chem just cannot get into the game.

Would like to see us push Chem wide and May up alongside Kanu and switch to an old fashioned 442 for 10 minutes and at least try something different.

Appleton’s tactical stubbornness in the face of overwhelming contradictory evidence is starting to be reminiscent of Karl Robinson.
I agree with going 4-4-2, what have we to lose trying something different. As you say Campbell barely involved.

Have you looked at this site recently? I think everyone is well aware how rubbish we are.

Good start but Rovers now in charge. Apples needs to deliver a strong half time speech but I’m not confident

  • Other then that initial brilliant 5 minutes, normal service resumed.

I would be surprised if both Hector & Jones survive the 90 with this vocal whiny home crowd, think the ref will give in to them.

Another weird 45 minutes. Good for 20. Asleep for 25.
    Big half coming up.
Kanu, Campbell, Watson, Anderson, Dobson were poor. Hector lucky to be on the pitch. May quiet. No service for CBT.
Jones beaten in the air for the disallowed goal. At least Hector got in the face of the linesman.

I expect he's more Frank Spencer than Churchill sadly

As others have said; stick May in the 10 and put Chem out wide

Still in top half of league at the moment, not expecting them to be by end of game
  • Anderson just looks lost. (In fairness, not the only one). I just give up if Louie Watson doesn't get a chance very soon.

He'll usually take the position most critical of a Charlton player, yes

Speaking as someone who has watched us several times this season, home and away, yes I am very aware of how bad we are 🙄

They seem to be competing a bit better, but that’s the bare minimum.  Very little on the ball going forward though

I’ve only kept half an eye on the game but what I’ve seen Anderson’s been better than Dobson…

Managed to watch the first half. Bloody hell we're becoming shitter each game. May unlucky not to score. CBT needs to make better decisions. Hector lucky to be on. Brizzle unlucky to not score with a couple of chances.
