They're such clever fuckers, I'll give them that.

The 6 month loan does Wednesday a favour and frees space, the fact it's not permanent it doesn't really hurt the bank balance, if he does well we face competition from other clubs as there is no option to buy (unless announced later). So if he performs we won't sign him as someone else will or if he doesn't they can say he's a player with a lot of potential etc and on paper could have been good and justify it that way

They've even got him to say he came because of Appleton. At this point I am just impressed by their PR, if we had a team as good as their PR we'd go up as champions even at this stage of the season.

    Tedic confirmed as gone
  • For all we know "swfcsykes" could be their Colin. Let's judge him after we've seen him play a few matches!

Based upon the existing pattern of our signings, I'm just going to assume that they are all shit until proven otherwise.

If they do turn out to be any good, then I'm also going to assume that our supercoach Apples will beat that out of them in short order.

The poor buggers will arrive already Charltonized or rapidly become so due to our ground-breaking, unique and innovative system; expecting otherwise will just lead to further disappointment, I fear.

It's better just to admit it and embrace our fate as the cursed of SE7, owners of the world's most expensive donkey sanctuary... ;)
  • Not impressed really with this, I believe permanents will happen but 2 loans to start is not a good look
  • Some of you would be much happier supporting Real Madrid.

All of us would be surely!

Even if he's bang average that will be an improvement on Fraser

"oooh he doesn't score many goals"

He's a defensive midfielder ffs, what do they expect?
Not according to Micky Apples he isn’t just a DM, can play box to box as well.

Don't mind a loan. Just not in January and us sitting in 14th pointless imo.

That's purely a Tom Rubbershoes thing, incoming players praising the manager has been a feature ever since he joined.  It used to be all the young loanees saying how they only joined us because of Lee Bowyer; the name just gets changed when we get a new manager.  One day the Comms team will forget the update the template and the old managers name will get quoted by accident.
Not something to beat the new owners with.

Why would you need an option to buy when he’s out of contract at the end of the season?

    Forward out, two midfielders in.

the new plan is to draw every game 0-0 to stop the rot

Both are Loan with Perm options... Jeez get over yourselves. Still X days left of the window. At least give it until 3pm tomorrow to whinge.
  • We are not paying transfer fees so forget about JCH. Loans and freebies are the strategy. Leak a few names we are interested in to make it seem like we mean business and then sign shite on the last day of the window. And then repeat every transfer window.
And the first shitty loan through the door

I don't have any mates supporting other clubs but if I did, they'd all say Bakinson is shit, can go missing, injury prone etc etc.,
Hilarious. Simply passing on what I’ve been told.

Another loan. Wow. These new owners are really pulling out all the stops.
Bet we don’t end up with JCH or Coventry.
Just the usual cheap stop gaps.

Well, I’m sure you know the old adage, ‘if you haven’t got anything nice to say, don’t say anything’ ;)

Seeing as its been confirmed that Tedic has gone back, and we believe that Abankwa has too, and then added into the mix that both Watson & Campbell have hardly been played by Appleton, can it be justified to say that Andy Scott's loan deals have a lot to be desired.

I couldn't care less if there loans, there extra bodies in the door more depth that we need desperately, there is 66 points left to play for and we should be aiming to win them all, hopefully we see Coventry, Clarke-harris and a few more on perms and build for next season aswell

Christ is it really that bad that we have to watch Colin play a few matches?

Players, like managers, say a variation of the same fluff all the time.

Here is Scully doing that for instance.

    https://www.portsmouthfc.co.uk/news/2023/june/scully-a-perfect-fit/

Here is May and Jones not doing that, but talking about how big the club is which is another classic:

And I’m sure if you bothered to look you would find examples of all of this at all clubs up and down the country.

It really feels like we are clutching at straws now to find things to have a moan about.

Not that I imagine there's an agreement that exists like I've said, as it wouldn't make sense, but if he does do well and manages to play every game and put up numbers, we won't be the only club interested in him. There will be other clubs who will have their attention drawn to him.

That's why I've said on the other thread he's gone exactly against what they've said we want to do. He isn't experienced, he isn't a leader type and he's not a long term signing. Either he's pants and they've took a low risk or if he's really good, we've potentially opened ourselves up to getting a player up to scratch and then joining elsewhere in the summer.

To be fair Real Madrid fans seem to be the worst in existence - They hated Gareth Bale, even after he won them that Champions League

Don’t see an issue with a loan that could lead to a perm, this isn’t a Nile John situation.

Plus let’s say we’re going to sign 6 players, I’d rather we use the money for the 3 perms then use smaller amounts on the 6. Obviously jury out but no bed wetting from me yet.
