@DubaiCAFC if your source is Charlie boy, or another member of the SMT, please point them in the direction of this sit, twitter and Insta tonight to show them what th fans think of Crappleton!
If (when) we lose today I think that gives Appleton five points out of the last 30. We would also be in effect at least 18th (given Wycombe-Port Vale postponement) and Reading are better than their points-deducted position suggests. I have never really thought we would go down to League 2, even in the dark days of Duchatalet and Sandgaard. Now I really worry it is a real possibility.
The thought of having to play Morecambe and Grimsby next season does not bear thinking about.
Grimsby one of my favorite away days and Morecambe Bay you might see if Barrow come up.
These substitutions are pretty desperate. Feels a bit like the final Holden game where you could tell he'd just completely run out of ideas and was panicking. Appleton doesn't help himself by just being inert on the touchline. You shouldn't have to jump around and shout to get the fans onside, but if you lose every game then looking like you don't care will turn them against you quicker.
To have dominated the first half as we did, you'd have expected us to kick on second half and carry on as we had. Instead we came out shaky and it's like the team talk weakened us mentally.
Appleton: “I’m pleased with the positive reaction after we conceded the second goal, 90% of the teams in this league couldn’t have played like that against Burton, they’re a big club, you could tell from the ground and the imposing atmosphere that we were in for a hard time here today and I’m an idiot”
