I think the nicknames for Ladapo already are a bit harsh, he's actually a proven player at this level and joined a side who have been terrible all season.

He's only played just over 400 minutes of football for us, the majority of that time under Appleton in the Burton and Northampton games, two games under interim managers and just the one chance under Jones so far.

Alright he hasn't played great, but that's writing off a player far too quickly, especially one that could be vital in keeping us up.
He's not been up to it as of yet but I agree. The service into him & May has been absolutely shocking.
I can hardly remember him getting the ball in and around the box. That’s where he’s most useful, but that also applies to Chuks with bells on.
  • Would Hector get staright back into the starting 11 once fit again? I dont know what centrebacks i would chose anymore.
  • Tomorrow is the 43rd anniversary of my first ever Charlton game.

On that occasion we were a Third Division side playing one of the best sides in Europe, Ipswich Town. We lost.

Tonight we're a Thrid Division side playing one of the best sides in Lincolnshire (aka Three Nipple Country). I expect the same result.

CAFC 0 LCFC 2, Corporal Jones and Gillespiesphey with the assists.

Yeh I know,  these Johny come lately's.  Gone full circle for me as well.  Never thought i'd see them in the 4th division though. That'll be a new one.
  • In a tricky situation where we need the players back but can just see them getting rushed in and injured again

I need to see some improvement this game otherwise I can't see anything other than League Two.
  • Defo no Asiimwe, Small and Fiorini tonight as all starting for the U21s.
  • Charlie Methven GK
    Rodwell CB
    Andy Scott CF

we lose 100-0 but we can laugh at them for 90 mins+

At no point so far have I even considered the chance that we might go down this year !! anything but a win tonight even I will think we are going to get relegated !!!

  • Anything less than a win will be a disaster.
The forthcoming games put more pressure on the need for three points tonight.
No cheesy smiles and laughter from the famous three tonight methinks.

Haha, it was tongue in cheek when I started saying these Man City players were a money laundering deal, now I think it might be serious.

What a waste of a slot if we are putting him with the u21s, if he isn't fit why sign him, absolute shit show

He has looked ok in spells, but he hasn't got much service. The way I see it, we have two of the best goal scorers in this league over the last 3 seasons. It is quite alarming we can't get them scoring.

It's far more to do with what is going on behind them, than themselves imo

1000% The midfield imbalance and lack of creativity is by far the biggest issue for me. How on earth Scott saw our squad and didn't think we needed a 10 is beyond me. Since the switch to 352 Scott Fraser could've done a job for us.

One thing these players need is support. Positivity. Cheers. Songs. Etc etc.

I am fed up of people booing and moaning the minute something shit happens.

i know we’re shit and it don’t look good but they need every bit of help we can give them I say.
We have a big part to play, we need to make the atmosphere difficult for opposing players imo. The Valley needs to become a fortress again.

Could be a mistake to play two goalscorers up top. Ideally one would do the hard graft of holding the ball up.

They all have their strengths and weaknesses, and we don't have a Mr Reliable like Patrick Bauer.

Jones, who looked very good, had a poor spell, which hopefully is over now.
Hector was a bit mistake prone, but looked better the more he played. No idea which Hector we'll see when he's back.
Ness was great before the injury but poor after it - although has improved since his recent return. Is he injured?
Gillesphey sounded great on paper, but the jury is still out after his mistake cost us the game against Derby, and poor recent performances?
Thomas looks the most solid, but he keeps being played in different positions.
REG - I have no idea.

Lincoln have kept as many clean sheets in their last 4 games as we have all season. Are our players really, truly that much worse than the likes of the Lincoln players who are probably paid half as much as our lot? Shocking and if it continues we have almost no chance of staying up.

Can see us conceding to a long throw tbh and can't really see us scoring more than 1 so will go for a 1-1 draw prediction.

I'm also perplexed as to how is it possible that out of our whole squad none of them can produce a long throw? I can get the ball into the area quite comfortably from a throw so how can at least 1 professional footballer in our squad not be capable of it?

I don't even think he's looked good in spells, he's been almost useless so far. BUT as you say, there is a proven goal scorer in there and we just need to make it click for him.

What's concerning is that he seems to have got worse the more he's played, rather than getting sharper.

I do think the criticism of Ladapo is harsh. BUT in the few games he's played for us he's already had three or four air shots in from of goal when well paced, which doesn't bode well. I mean, one or two is just about acceptable over the course of a season, but three or four in just a few games suggests he needs some new contact lenses.

That would be nice, but tbf, if we had midfielders that could keep the ball, and find pockets of space to pass into, our two forwards would be able to get some chances.

As it stands we just can't keep the bloody ball and create a passage of play for them.

Aneke being back will certainly help us keep the ball up top

I am giving him the benefit of the doubt that I've seen him put himself in the right places and seem to have the right idea, similar to what I thought Schwartz was doing, hopefully the end result isn't the same mate.

He doesn't look sharp at all, it's really surprising as he was playing for Ipswich in the championship here and there. I really bloody hope he finds a goal as it could help his confidence.

Genuinely gutted I ain't going, going to really miss it tonight.

I have been pulled kicking and screaming into the reality that despite the upside of a potential local derby with Bromley and by-passing having to play Wrexham, a team that shows how investment, recruitment and team management can work, the prospect of relegation to Div 4 is not only a reality but is looking increasingly inevitable.  I described watching Charlton recently as a self imposed ruination of any matchday evening or weekend while having needles stuck in your eyes.  I am not looking forward to a(nother) shitty Tuesday evening and eye ache.  Supporting Charlton was an accident of birth in the very early 60’s, we deserve so much better than this, let’s hope it starts here.

I thought Toure left years ago!
  • This season has been a complete disaster and I'm resigned to L2. We will hit rock bottom eventually.

    Our squad is a shambles.
