  • South london is aparently wonderful because there is t^%& f^&*%& and charlton....

However tranmere is full of s^&* s&*^ and more s&*^ unfortunately....
  • Charlton have won their last five league games and will no doubt be looking to make it six. At the very least they will be hoping not to be beaten. The other alternative is that they will lose.

More news as it comes in.
  • They will be using an official "size 5" football for todays fixture....
  • Really good to see everyone fit. Basey on the bench in place of Fleetwood, obviously Parky wants that extra defensive cover. Interesting that Tuna keeps his place ahead of Fleetwood (and no Dickson yet again - not doing enough in training?), Parky really seems to like him.
  • Breaking news ....... in accordance with FA, UEFA and FIFA regulations, the match will be played with a ROUND ball.
  • When was the last time we played the same side for 5 straight league games?
  • Both the goal nets WILL be checked prior to kick off by the linesmen/referees assisants ...
  • In addition to wearing boots, the Charlton players will be taking to the field today wearing Charlton shirts, shorts and socks of matching design and colour. This will help them to readily identify team mates more easilly.

Never? I mean, today it's Tranmere but last week it was Walsall and I'm sure it was someone different the week before that too. And, come to think of it, the week before that. Stop being so stupid man!
  • From this season onwards (til someone changes the Laws of the Game again) teams may pick 7 players to be what are known as Substitutes, but are only allowed to place 3 on the pitch taking off 1 player each time this happens.
  • The pitch will "pre-marked" with white paint to break up the different regions and mark the exterior of the ptich.

the individual whos responsibility to pre mark said pitch and tend for the general quality of the playing surface is called the "groundsman"
  • Are we playing 90 minutes today?
  • It is fully expected that today's referee will carry with him a traditional whistle on which he will blow to signal the start and finish of play, for example at the begining of the match and when a foul has been committed.
  • If you boys don't stop being silly I will keep you all in after school.
  • Officers of the local constabulary will be in attendance at the match whose role, in conjunction with stewards, will ensure the safety and comfort of the spectators both inside and outside the ground.

In addition the referee will wear a uniform which will not "match" either of the uniforms or "kits" of either the home or away teams to ensure that none of the playing staff accidently mis identify said referee as a member of their team...
  • I won't warn you again
