Surprised he left Exeter, unless it was a similar scenario

Sad, club to club, future in the game looks in doubt.
  • No length of contract released. Maybe pay as you play.? That will be £150,  injured 20 minutes into debut.

Maybe a joke to some, perhaps I am in a minority, but I feel sorry for him, as someone who hoped to have a career in football stopped through injury in my teens, I do not find it funny

He has done pretty well  out of football. He’s been paid a decent professional wage for 9 years and barely made 100 appearances. My sympathies are more with the clubs who paid his wages. Maybe harsh but the stats don’t lie.

I do not imagine that this is how he wanted his career to go. I would think that he would rather had stayed fit and play more often, but I will not attempt to change yours or others opinions over Page or other unfortunate players who have a fitness problem.

It seems that he turned down their offer. That was the one club where he seemed settled and "healthy"

Glad he got there. South Eastern new reduced summer timetable between Abbey Wood and Gravesend probably didn’t help

He's found his level. I hope he has a really good season ahead.

Bar injuries , he was quite useful .  As if there were a more appropriate epitaph to a modern Charlton footballer

Good luck to him. A very decent player when fit. Just a shame he's suffered so much with injuries. Nice shirts and a quality sponsor there too!

He does a football training school for kids with Sam Ling in Ware and Sawbridgeworth. I've taken my boy a couple of times but can't commit every week as he already has training with his own team on both days which is a shame, it's really good training as well. Lewis is a top bloke had a few good chats with him about Charlton.

I didn't actually realise his first major injury was with us I always thought he had problems when he came from West Ham. Raptured Hamstring was a bastard felt for the lad as he was a good player.

Can't believe he's only 29. Injuries really did ruin his career

Now down in the 7th tier. The same league as Dartford, Welling and Dulwich.

Was watching Dartford playing at St Albans today. Lewis looked fit and lively, and played the full 90, so surprising he's dropped so low in the ladder.

I was there too killerandflash. Looked solid, blowing out of his arse for the last 20 minutes. Had a good row with the Dartford number 2 coach too. Had a chat with my son after the game. Got his autograph and mentioned his screamer for The Addicks.

Very good player on his day but very injury prone .
150 games in 11 years is probably the main reason why he is now playing so low down the pyramid.

Still surprising he couldn't get a higher club, the 7th tier is a very low level for a player of his ability, even with his fitness record. Indeed you wonder why he keeps going.

At that level you do get players whose legs have gone, but get by with their nous and strength, but he's not in that category, unlike his teammate 37 year old ex Stevenage and Peterborough midfielder Michael Bostwick, who looked barely more athletic than me, but used his experience to play as a centre back.
