Heart says England. Head says Spain but that's based more on how the 2 teams have played so far in this tournament. If we really go for it I honestly think we have the better team and will win. Big if though.0

I'm still struggling to get my head around the KO being at 8pm (9pm in Berlin) on a Sunday. Madness3

Strangely, I don't think an early goal will help us. Midway through the second half will do nicely.0

If we score early we are fucked.1

You heard it here first.0 -
No strangely about it. It didn't help us against Croatia. It didn't help us against Italy.MuttleyCAFC said:Strangely, I don't think an early goal will help us. Midway through the second half will do nicely.0 -

I think our only chance is if if goes to penalties. Its a big IF as Spain have won every game so far and are playing flowing, attacking, exciting football. I think 2-1 or maybe 3-1 to Spain but I hope I'm wrong. I actually bet on Spain to win the competion a few months ago - so if England win - great - if Spain win then at least I get some compensation...!0

Spain due a pony one and we’re due a decent performance, it’s ours … I still believe7

Whilst you wouldn’t think so just looking at who they’ve beaten on the way to the final, However, I think they’ve actually had an easier route to get here than England. The last game was against France and once Mbappe was hurt in that earlier round France basically lost their way. In the quarter final Spain played Germany who, imo, never looked convincing from the start of the tournament (when they beat a 10 man Scotland team). Basically, from the start Spain hasn’t had to dig deep so far and as a result I suspect if England pick up from where they left off then Spain may well wobble. Kane is overdue a hat trick in this tournament and his first medal. Today’s the day for him and England.oohaahmortimer said:Spain due a pony one and we’re due a decent performance, it’s ours … I still believe6 -
We can't just go 1-0 up, we need the 2nd and 3rd.
If we go 1-0 up and sit back, we lose.4 -
I saw a random facebook page that has posted this, the strength of support for England from all around Europe and the rest of the world in the comments (including from Scotland, Wales and Ireland!) was phenomenal.MrWalker said:Map showing which country is supporting which tomorrow.Disappointed with Malta, frankly.

That’s an amazing level of delusion. Spain have beaten Croatia, Italy, Germany and France. England have beaten Vatican City, Lesotho, Charlton Park Under 12’s and that island Lyle Taylor played for. England haven’t remotely played anyone as good as Spain yet.letthegoodtimesroll said:

Chunes said:We saw against the Dutch that if you let us play, we can tear you to shreds. The Spanish only play one way, they're always open. I think if we can get our key players on the ball, in space, we'll have a very good game. And I might be wrong but can't see why that wouldn't happen.
This is so wrong.
Spain have conceded 3 goals in six matches and won all the games and scored 13 goals.
Gareth Southgate will try to negate Spain unless he changes from being Tony Pulis into Jürgen Klopp.0 -
Spain had arguably the toughest group and then the toughest run to the final you can get, until the Netherlands we played a bunch of dogged but average nations2

It’s been like that since 2004 although 2004-2012 were 8.45 pm kick offs rather than 9pm.tangoflash said:I'm still struggling to get my head around the KO being at 8pm (9pm in Berlin) on a Sunday. Madness0 -

England drew with Switzerland in 90 mins who drew with Germany in 90 mins who drew with Spain in 90 mins.
England beat Netherlands 2-1. Spain beat France 2-1. Netherlands and France drew 0-0. Netherlands might’ve won that 1-0 but for a controversial VAR decision.
Forget what happened in the group stage for either team - the quarter final and semi final results suggest this is going to be a very tight game.4 -
Every team England has played is currently ranked lower in the FIFA rankings than England. Including the Final.sam3110 said:Spain had arguably the toughest group and then the toughest run to the final you can get, until the Netherlands we played a bunch of dogged but average nations0 -
To be fair, only France and Belgium are ranked above us... and will be surprised if the latter remain ahead of us, regardless what happens tonight - Given that Brazil are also out of the Copa America, I imagine we'll be 3rd in the Rankings after the Euros as the gap between us in 5th, and Belgium in 3rd was already very minimal.Chizz said:

Not that the rankings really mean much.2 -
It was a surprise to me when I saw that stat. Have there been any other tournaments when we have only played team below us in the rankings?ForeverAddickted said:

I'm not sure how your follow-up argument disproves the point but that's your opinion and that's all good. In the games I've seen, Spain don't sit back narrow and soak up pressure. They press high and are always wide. The last 10-15 mins against France - where they were already winning - was the best demonstration. Either way I don't have much interest in getting into an argument about how Spain play.soapboxsam said:Chunes said:We saw against the Dutch that if you let us play, we can tear you to shreds. the bleedin obvious .. we need to stop their dangerous young wingers, also down their left Cucurella (cuckoo cuckoo) has been a revelation as attacker, defender and getting away with hand ball merchant.
We can stop their midfield which France absolutely failed to do and i m o their defence is their weak spot
I hope the referee clamps down early on Rodri's Man Citteee tactic of little niggling fouls to prevent our break outs from defence, though I doubt that the officials will until abut his sixth little foul.
VERY VERY tight game, could go all the way to a penalty shoot out, England Bring Home The Bacon and annoy all the vegetarians and vegans across the UK
Bank Holiday when we win ? .. yes, BUT only in England0
