They do leave gaps between the lines in similar ways to Netherlands did so we may be able to exploit these with our 2 number 10s.

Beyond that I think it'll be largely be a cagey affair. Southgate will be happy to keep it tight and take it late in the game. 70th minute and one goal down and I'll still believe we're in the game.

It's the final both sides will be nervous and tentative, don't expect Spain to go all out And this could easily go either way, 1 goal wins in normal time or down to pens.

Honestly, in terms of type of player find us and the Spanish very similar in set up and ability, they embrace going for it more than Southgate, but both approaches have their merits.

The Spanish aren't overly confident and expecting an easy victory from what I've seen a d read.

Spain due a pony one and we’re due a decent performance, it’s ours … I still believe
Whilst you wouldn’t think so just looking at who they’ve beaten on the way to the final, However, I think they’ve actually had an easier route to get here than England. The last game was against France and once Mbappe was hurt in that earlier round France basically lost their way. In the quarter final Spain played Germany who, imo, never looked convincing from the start of the tournament (when they beat a 10 man Scotland team). Basically, from the start Spain hasn’t had to dig deep so far and as a result I suspect if England pick up from where they left off then Spain may well wobble. Kane is overdue a hat trick in this tournament and his first medal. Today’s the day for him and England.

Spain had arguably the toughest group and then the toughest run to the final you can get, until the Netherlands we played a bunch of dogged but average nations
I'm hoping we're one step too far for them

Well after the events of yesterday, that's our team talk done and dusted. Head and Heart both say England win 2-1, Ruiz for theirs, Kane for both of ours.

Bring it home for him lads.

I'm fairly calm, as while I desperately want England to win, I'm not expecting it.

Rodri is undoubtedly the best defensive midfielder in the world but he’ll have job on keeping Bellingham and Fodden quiet at the same time. Rest of the Spanish defence is not that amazing (still decent obviously). Hopefully Saka can get at Cucurella and our midfield 4 can hopefully get on top of their 3. Fancy Walker vs Williams so a lot may hinge on 1) Rice vs Olmo 2) Whoever our left back is vs Yamal 3) If Kane had been managing his injury well enough that he can up his levels for one last big push. Then who uses their subs best. I think we have more depth.

I have real hope we can finally do this but Spain are favourites in form. I think it’s too tight to call though and the odd goal or penalties will probably be what it comes down to.

I see it as like us joking about hating the French etc.

There's historical reasons etc, but now it's all very tongue in cheek.  Yes they want us to lose but there's no real spite or malice behind 90% of it.

International equivalent of us wanting Real Madrid/Barcelona to beat Liverpool/Arsenal.

Maybe an age thing but with my gang (mates since 77) it’s real and intense. Most of them would take beating England over winning the Euros all day long. I think most of them wont watch tonight. They are really pathetic. Losers😉

Figured he would start Shaw at left back. Obviously thinks he can last the 90 mins. More than likely to see Palmer & Watkins late on.

Christ not liking these stats I'm reading - We've never been beaten in Berlin... Last time we lost to Spain at a Major Tournament was in 1950
