2-0 Charlton. Scrappy game to start with but think we will end up comfortable.

Mentioned before I would start Kanu and Ahadme for this game. TC is growing into the Striker role so dont want to over do it with him!

A 1-0 home win would be a massive result.

TC and Kanu as a partnership didn’t look like it worked as well as TC and Ahadme but that could have been simply because of who the two opposition teams were. Kanu and Chuks is a partnership that looks worth developing and it could be that settles in to be the pencilled in substitution impact duo on the team sheet for a while given we won’t be overdoing doing it with Chuks.

I think we'll win 1-0 with a late goal from a defender and everyone will be moaning about losing May

Orient looked really good v Bolton. Kelman in particular up front.

  • Hoping for a 15/16k crowd full of positivity & in full voice - cheering us onto a dominant, then nervy 3-1 win, having taken the lead (TC), then doubling it (Doch) just before half time, we are pegged back in 75th min as they make it 2-1 and mount a late comeback- but then ‘finisher’ (not substitute) T.Small adds a late 3rd to calm everyone’s nerves…. Happy Valley, tunnel jump by TC and every CAFC fan leaves with our team on max points after 2 games. I think I’m taking the CL predictions game a bit too seriously after my week one 5pts lol @thai malaysia addick

Would like to see Berry and Kanu come in for Anderson and Campbell but think NJ is very much a favourites man, so, expect  to be unchanged from the last league game.

Comfortable if unspectacular 2-0 home win, Docherty and Kanu and the same old arguments continue.
  • Little steps of attacking progress, few more moments playing higher up the pitch and signs of how we will combine, served on a bed of solid structure and minimal chances given.
    2 games, 2 clean sheets.

I'd swap Berry for Anderson in that line up & hope that Godden makes the bench.

Expecting another not very high scoring match. By all accounts their keeper gifted 2 goals to Bolton last weekend but as we average less than 2 shots on target per game I just hope he's in just as generous a mood.

    1-1.

I make Gillesphey a weak link, and as you know, I’m very rarely wrong. 😬
Have been impressed by Zach Mitchell, but so far only based on coming on as sub against a tiring team. But there’s something very classy about him.
Would be good to see the Mitchell brothers starting a game at some stage. Perhaps we could play or even sing the Eastenders theme song. Or not.
I’m expecting the game to be quite boring if I’m honest. Just wish we’d sign a game changer asap.

Are Orient one of those teams that on paper, we feel we should beat but rarely do?

Could this be the mark of a much changed and improved team, if we do grind out a victory?

And with that in mind 0-1, Nargh, not really, 1-0.

I think Alfie will be too busy playing to watch our game.

Very few Charlton/Orient matches are decided by more than one goal margins.

Charlton Athletic have won six of their last nine league games against Leyton Orient (L3), scoring 2+ goals in five of those matches.

Leyton Orient have lost each of their last three away league games against Charlton Athletic and will be looking to avoid losing four such matches in succession against the Addicks for the first time in the EFL.

Charlton Athletic are unbeaten across their last seven home league games (W2 D5), while the Addicks last enjoyed a longer such streak at the Valley between April and October 2022 (8 matches).

Of the 17 teams who remain in League One this season from the 2023-24 campaign, only Lincoln City (23) conceded fewer away goals than Leyton Orient (24) in the division last term.

One of my earliest games was Charlton v Leyton Orient and Keith Peacock scored with what had meant to be a cross! I think 1969, before I would class my self as a Charlton supporter.

Hard nut as a player and his record suggests also as a manager, Richie Wellens has done a great job for The Os .. they are tight, organised, work hard and can also play a bit
I expect us to be unchanged from the Wigan trip and also expect us to win this after a hard lunchtime's work ..
not to be too pessimistic, BUT our attack needs either strengthening or more practice together to get MUCH sharper, thing is there are not too many 20/25 goal strikers looking for a job
  • The Addicks by the odd goal again.

Sorry if I'm asking a question that's answered elsewhere, but is Godden unlikely again for Saturday?

Only 1800 tickets sold for Orient as of this morning. They brought 3k last season and would surely have done over 2k again if this hadn't been moved for sky

Sky will have a negative impact on attendance all season.
I hope that the EFL clubs will see sence to vote against any further attempts to move ever more games away from the traditional 3pm kick off times.
Or 3.03 when it comes to Charlton.
