Ah I wish I was cool enough to hate Coldplay.

Never understood the eagerness to tell people you don’t like them. It’s up there with letting everyone know you’re eating pie n mash.

I'm in the queue to find out where I am in the queue!

it would make much more sense if there was like one queue for each venue and when you got to the front, ticketmaster would tell you what tickets are left on what dates so you can make a choice, rather than have a queue for each bloody date.  Surely that couldn't be too difficult to handle technically?

Every time I try and get concert tickets, I end up empty handed.

Is there some sort of technique that I'm not aware of that people use to get tickets?
Yes. You need to be part of a ' legal' touting company.

Yeah……just go and see hugely unpopular bands. It’ll be piss easy to get tickets.

Similar to getting tickets to see Charlton rather that Spurs I imagine…..

I think ppl really just mean that they don’t like Chris Martin.

My main tip for getting tickets is to avoid the big ticketing sites.  I got lucky multiple times today via AXS (2 x tickets, twice) which seemed to hold up very well under the pressure, despite the fact it identified me as a bot (I switched my internet connection to mobile phone from wifi to circumvent this).  Another choice is gigsandtours

Ticketmaster are the worst and I avoid if at all possible.

Second tip.  There will be production releases 2-4 weeks before the event.  Keep an eye on the sites (daily nearer the time) and you'll have a chance of getting tickets for a gig this size.

I love the fact that Coldplay are playing 8 dates.  In your face Oasis.....

    Coldplay aren’t for me tbh.
  • Went into a queue, messed me about with payment right at the last and didn’t manage to get any.

Anyone on here got Lord Ali’s mobile number?

Absolute joy seeing there is only low availability left and joining a queue in 270,000 place

which sites are those mate? They just randomly release tickets? So gutting, have tried for years without any luck. Is it too early to start a Coldplay the spares thread ?

All standard ticket sites will resale (axs and ticketmaster being the main ones I would try).

They will have undersold pending production fine detail so events of this size always have a few more to sell.

I hate the way it’s so hard to buy tickets for any big gigs now. Is it just more people want to go or is it the bots set up to fleece us. Online ticket sales have been a thing for 20 years now, but only since covid has there been this type of scramble.

To put it in context, Coldplay are selling 720,000 tickets for the 8 shows. I just don’t understand how they all get snapped up so quickly.

I’m not a massive fan of them either (my wife is though). My sister isn’t into them either but saw them a few years ago and said they were fantastic.

In relation to whether they are 'good' or not.  They have arguably not released anything note worthy in nearly 10 years, but remain THE best LIVE band and experience in the world for me. I saw them first time in April 2000 (pre-parachutes) and the live band they have become is phenomenal from where they started (acoustic 'bed-wetters').  The whole production is something else.
  • also not massively my bag but one of those bands who are meant to be great live.

I missed out because of Ticketmaster crashing near the front of the queue so would be interested in spares if any are available

Coldplay's latest album, shifts more copies than the rest of the top 40 combined. They must be doing something right I guess.  https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/articles/c4gl42e1gljo

I think it’s all pot luck mate.
