Reading through this thread makes me realise how little I watch live TV and therefore adverts. I’m surprised how many people still do. With the exception of live sport I can’t understand it.

  • Hate most adverts, special mention for Argus with the weird frog/monster and the Chucky like female doll.
Only advert I've ever liked was the Gorilla playing drums to a Phil Collins track for Cadburys Milk Tray!

Yeah I've definitely been thinking about it. You might have pushed me over the edge. They seem to have upped the frequency of ads lately as well.

There used to be a D&AD Chrome Extension which instead of YouTube ads, played a selection of the best ads ever. It was brilliant, but sadly stopped working now.

Seems to me that so much advertising is either aimed at the gullible young and/or assumes that the entire population has a mental age of about 12 years

Just seen that terrible Kellogg's advert where some bird pulls a lever to drop her partner into a void so she can get outside a bowl of cornflakes. Charmless. They had to tack on a bit about the man recovering in the basement, when she calls down "sorry" no doubt after poor feedback to the original version.

Can't watch TV durring the day without being bombarded with ads for prepaid funeral plans, leaving cash to charity in your will and over 50s life insurance. FFS you don't need this all day long when you are retired! I'll stick to the Internet I think 😆

But it's only £2 a month. If you subscribed to them all you'd be in the poor house soon enough.

Any of those adverts when some bloke is doing the crap Albert Einstein impression, but especially that one with Angela Rippon.

Does anyone ask for £2 a month anymore? That feels like early 2000s. Now they want your house, half your estate and your firstborn.

I wouldn't say it annoys me, but the Tom Kerridge M&S Gastro ad on the radio gives me completely the wrong vibes. The way he says 'Gastro' makes me think more Gastro Enteritis than Gastronomy. I end up imagining the chef with his trousers round his ankles desperately phoning his M&S paymasters to get them to deliver another packet of poo tickets. Try M&S Gastro? No bloody way, I don't want to suffer the shits like Tom does.

what a arse! and another pisspoor cliche of an advert.
  • Not adverts as such but watching the Pakistan v England cricket on TV, the way they promote the sponsors by seemingly inviting spectators to pretend to be drinking a brand of tea or solar power charging their phones in an area surrounded by branded hoardings is grinding my gears..

All adverts.  An outdated medium that just interupts the flow.  Prefer to watch any BBC and/or Netflix!
