    I agree, but I don't see why it has to be a binary choice. I'd prefer some middle line where we have a manager that shows an appropriate amount of interest and passion without costing the club money and becoming a distraction. That said, with some of the dreadful football dished up this season we do sometimes need a distraction.
    Ah...perfection it is then Stig, thing is we ain't in the market for such, and Jones in his manic state is better than a motionless inarticulate thing on the touchline...so "Carry on Jones" imo

    I genuinely believe we have a weaker squad overall than last season, but they should be a step up on that.

    However I believe his rather cavalier attitude to getting booked (or sent off) is a bad example to the players, and if they get enough bookings or sendings off we lose them on the pitch.
    If Jones expects players to be on point and in control when playing, then he ought to show a greater degree of control when managing.
    It is rather sweet and refreshing when Jones (an articulate and intelligent man in my view) admits to the stress and getting wound up by the job and that he has passion, but he simply needs to deal with that in a way that doesn’t set a poor example to the players, because it harms us.

They might say the referee, but if you mic'd up the ref, you'd hear 20 players calling him an "effing dickhead" all game and going unpunished, yet the manager gets booked for complaining about a foul.

    Yet the rules and protocols are there, and whilst they exist Nathan Jones should try harder to not fall foul of them.

    NJ is deluded if he truly thinks we start games on the front foot with aggression. We are painfully slow and passive, like we are holding out to go in even at half time then hoping for a break to go our way in the second half.

    nice idea, but our midfield incapable of keeping the ball. So what happens is the defenders pass the ball to midfield only for it to come back straight away, they then pass it side ways or back to the keeper as our defenders not good with ball at their feet and so it hit long at some point to get it away from danger.

    Why was Small marking a six foot three defender right in front of goal? OK if he is beyond far post where he only has to back in and put him off, but one of our 3 CBs or Miles should have been on him.

    Yes, he's not the finished article yet, but I was impressed with Miles' attitude yesterday. He was the one trying to pump the away fans up, and the player getting stick from the home fans.

    A leader on the pitch, for someone still only 20.

    obviously the sending off changed the game in Hudds favour, beaten at the end by yet another long range scoring strike .. t b h I am at a loss to understand why we are so poor with a squad as decent as most in this division, it MUST be down to the manager's inability to properly select, motivate and organise the squad

    Excluding loans, just look at where a lot of those players have ended up, League two or below.  At the time, we gave far too many of these players too much grace, when in reality the majority were and have been dross.  

    For too long we’ve been served up crap footballers, playing crap football (slowly), and it’s only our own delusional hope that we allow ourselves to think that the likes of Adhame will ‘come good’ or ‘push on’

    Very few have come good or pushed on since signing for us in the last 5 years, and I imagine when the current crop of players have moved on in the next 2-3 years, they’ll also be able to find their way to the likes of Gillingham, MK Dons and other staple League 2 teams 


    Another slightly worrying statistic is regarding our kids that are moving on to bigger and better things
    Aribo was probably the last and that was 6-7 seasons ago. And from the current crop I've seen,that don't look like changing anytime soon.
    For a club that prides itself on its academy conveyor belt, the numbers really aren't very good.

    Was great to see him battling away, and the maturity to not react when their defenders were pushing him about. Shame his header didn't go in, a great cross in and he got around the defender well. Looking sharper each game, no doubt he will start slotting then away regularly soon. We need him to.

    Yes.  And I think we’re always very kind to the youth.  Not that they shouldn’t be given a chance and they are at a very fragile stage of their career, but the Aaron Henry’s, the Richard Chin’s etc have all been touted, but they’re going on to have careers in non league football.  I suppose Burstow, Doughty and Leaburn have/may go on to perform at Champ level, hard to say now.

    Back in the day there wasn't a "technical area". Managers mostly sat in the dug out & hollered instructions. Don Revie or Brian Clough didn't seem to have a problem with this.

    Loved NJ passion at first ,especially after Apples 1000 yrs stare ,and I wonder if he has lost the dressing room given the lack of a coherent style of play. 
    If I knew the answer I would be organising training and sitting in the dugout on a Saturday. 
    But I find it hard to keep going back to watch lacklustre football , but I will because that’s what I can contribute towards the team.
