He had his flaws but he was a pretty decent keeper for us in the Championship amongst the misery. I suppose it's hard to say as they both played about half a season (23 and 24 games each) in a relegation disaster show so neither exactly had their best year. Arguably the difference is their showings is that Pope went on to a Premier League move straight after to be groomed to take over as a number 1 and Elliot played two seasons in L1 before getting a move as a third choice keeper in the Prem. In terms of the seasons they played for us in the Championship though there's no real winners there, I doubt either of them will look back on their highest level seasons with us fondly.

When you look at the fixtures, December is a massive month for us if we plan to get back in amongst it.

Pope was largely dire for us .  Randolph was better on his line but not commanding .  I’d have Hamer over Rob , mainly for the memories .  

Big opportunity for Robbie Elliott to audition for the Charlton manager's job.

Sadly for him our 3 - 1 win will dent those chances but his team's style of play will impress some.

Thomas Myrhe was  decent keeper. Got pushed to number two with the loan deal for Carson. Think there was a condition that if fit Carson had to play.

Wow thats a blast from the past forgot about him he was alright, see a few names actually now. I remember Stephan Anderson being an incredible shot stopper but poor in other areas. Pope as I said was poor for us I remember one game vividly (cant recall against who) where the other team has a free kick just outside the area, he set up the wall and took his position and what felt like the whole North stand behind him were shouting he is too far over for like 30 seconds, they take the free kick beat the wall but not well placed and it goes in.

That said the lad has proven him self to be a premier league goalkeeper and imo probably should have more caps, perhaps those mistake were the same all young players make just amplified as he was a GK.

With the way Carson played Myhre didn't have a chance anyway. Also still had Andersen for part of that season too iirc.

Quit the game not long after leaving us I think and I'm sure I read something about him struggling with depression whilst playing but could be wrong on that.

Yeah he did but read an interview where it sounded like he lost his confidence took his 5 figure pay off from Pompey and went to Las Vegas to start a business and is now very successful over there. fair play to the young man for deciding there's a life outside of football for him.

Kept letting shots under his body .  

Rob Elliot will get a clap from me. (Note, a clap, not the clap!)
Hope the ref starts spot on 7.45 and doesn't add on loads of extra time...unless we are losing of course.
If Alan Campbell plays, I hope he has one of his better games. I'd far prefer TC to figure but we'll see.
We haven't let a goal in for a couple of games, so we will have to score at least twice to win. Probably a draw.
