I’ve not seen Andy at The Valley this season.
Does he attend our games?
Genuine question, I’m not inviting a pile on.

I don't know the answer but I wouldn't mind if he hadn't been to too many games. Always thought Gallen watched us too much so wasn't out and about watching potential signings. Obviously he needs to see some but not every game

I heard he was on the train back from Shrewsbury, but didn’t see him myself.

I probably doesn't help his motivation when we sees the crock of shit he's signed bumbling around on our pitch.

Saw him picking at a Charcuterie board at the Blackheath Cote Brasserie a few weeks ago. Andy was dining alone, and there was a tangible sadness behind his eyes.

Haven't seen him at the Valley though.

There’d be a sadness behind my eyes if a big part of my job was watching our football every day too

When Jones was getting booed off on Tuesday there were 4 people left in the director's box watching down, could see Methven and Rodwell but had just assumed one of the others was Scott?

I thought Andy Scott would be a good choice with his football experience. If he wanted to be judged on results, we have at best stood still as a mid table 3rd tier club; I'm sure he promised more !
  • Maybe when we see the accounts we can better judge the recruitment  in that time frame. It looks like we have a massive spend, but how much is paying for previous (poor) signings that had to be off loaded? This was mentioned at Bromley meeting.
as it stands it doesn't look like value for money

    Too busy attending job interviews....
  • Scrub that.

He's now in the Club Shop buying his Xmas presents with the £10 VG voucher he won this week.

He has added to that with poor signings of his own that we will struggle to offload. Looking at our squad now there are hardly any players brought in before Scott was here.

It’s only Aneke, Jones and Edun I think, and Edun we tried to sign while Scott was in charge in January before they took over so he might have wanted him anyway

The obsession with him on this forum is quite frankly bizarre

He probably was regretting not having the onion soup instead.

Criticising one of the people contributing to the failure of our football club is an 'obsession'? Going to need that one explained.

Dan Ashworth, long time sporting director at Newcastle, has left Man Utd after 5 months.

Doubt we could afford him even if he would come full time but he might fancy some short term consulrancy work.

Was at Brighton so maybe Dr Abbott can convince him to get involved.

    Why?
Its obvious that we need a creative midfielder, a decent wide player and a striker. Why pay someone a big salary to tell us that?

Because our recruitment has been awful for years.

Has anybody here seen my old friend Andy Scott
Can someone tell me where he’s gone.
They say he’s signed a lot of players, but good ones cry off…yeah,
I just turned around and they are gone.

The Crazy world of the Premier league:

Dan Ashworth did a good job at Newcastle which helped them reach the Champions League so Manchester United with the help of mega rich English man, Jim Ratcliffe (who now owns 27.7% of United) paid at least 5 million for the service of Ashworth who after a spell of being Monty Don on GL became Sporting director at Man Utd.
Now after just 5 months the successful sporting director at Brighton and Newcastle is out the door despite being called "the best sporting director around" by 18 billion pound INEOS chief Jim Ratcliffe when he was recruited.

CEO of Man united, Omar Berrada and Jim Radcliffe surely made this decision after the new players bought in the summer window haven't hit the ground running!

    ..................

Is Andy Scott hiding in the Forest !
We can't see the wood for the trees.

Maybe because knowing that we need those type of players is just the first part

Someone then has to identify the actual players who will improve us.

Then someone has to agree that with the manager and the directors.

Then someone has to persude the player, his agent and his club to join us on loan or on a permanant deal at the right price and wages.

And maybe Ashworth is better at that than Andy Scott.

    Maybe.
