Anyone see last nights match where the ScottIsh fella Cameron Menzies was breaking down basically in tears as he was having a bit of a mare , was really painful to watch as he lost to Leonard Gates the Soulger .
James Wade went out 3-0 to Jermaine Wattimena

    Tough start for Wadey that in the first round especially as Wattimena can be rubbish or brilliant on any given day.

    He's a very emotional player on stage, when he wins and loses. Last night was tough to watch though

    I like Fallon and always want her to do well but I do wonder how much longer the media fanfare will last considering she isn't really up to the level she was a few years ago and isn't likely to get a tour card any time soon

    Is the afternoon session at Ally Pally actually going to be shown in the lounges on the 29th Dec? (after the Wycombe game)

    The comms talk about inflatable dart boards around the ground etc but I can’t see any confirmation that the darts will be shown on the TVs? (Which is surely the way they will make money if people stay behind for a couple of drinks).

    Based on the clubs comms yesterday I assume they planned this day under the assumption that our game kicked off at 3pm (with the idea that people could come early to watch the 12:30 afternoon darts session before the match)…but then realised the idea wasn’t so great when they noticed that the darts and match kick off at the same time!

    Guess it was too late to cancel their order for inflatable/magnetic dart boards when they realised!

    On a wider note, it’s symptomatic of just how much of mess this club is behind the scenes.  I feel for the people in the comms and Ops dpt that have got to execute on this.  The press statement is even half arsed.  It essentially reads as ‘come along and let’s try to make a fun day with a darts theme’

    the main product we sell is a load of crap, let’s try and tag along to something very popular, piggyback of that in a non meaningful way in the hope we’ll sell a few extra pints in the lounges and bars.  

    I’m not into the darts, but you can see from its popularity in the mainstream, ally pally is a big thing and is buzzing.  Imagine trying to replicate that buzz having watched a load of crap footballers play out a 2-0 defeat in front of a crowd of about 8000 in a 27000 stadium on a cold grey, winter’s day.

    This sounds very Charlie Methven from Made in Sunderland
