So many seeded players falling before Christmas. Has really opened up some parts of the draw.

Cross v Williams could be a cracker too.
  • I see no-one putting up any scores this evening.

Is this in deference to those who intend to watch the highlights on 'Darts Match of the Day' without knowing the results later?

That Chisnell/Evans game easily best of the tournament so far - had everything! And what a session, four superb contests.

Watched Chizzy Evans last night and Crosd this morning. The latter was a massive let down compared to the former

I used to love watching the darts. Been to Ally Pally and Circus Tavern to watch and it’s a great night out. But I’ve just not really watched it in recent years. The quality is better these days and Littler is an insanely talented player, but I just don’t find it entertaining anymore. Maybe it’s the characters? I dunno. I think I’ve just lost the bug.

I tried watching a match the other day and just couldn’t generate any interest. I found the thing I noticed the most was the stupid way the caller shouted 180 in a weird overly long escalating pitch which, for some reason, pissed me right off.

I’m kind of jealous of you lot, because I used to really love it. Oh well. I guess I’ll just have to fall back on the entertainment titans that are Charlton Athletic! 🙄

    It was on my part.
I didn't want to ruin it for anyone that had recorded it and knew that you can always google the scores.

We've gone every year for longer than I can remember, possibly about 15 years.
It's always the same, it's part of Xmas for us.

If you like drinking lager, having a sing song, partying and watching the best darts players once a year then it's brilliant.

I've never seen any trouble there apart from the one or two ejected in 15 years for being overly boisterous.

I’ve been watching highlights on YouTube and the commentary sounds so lifeless this year. Dan Dawson is only one who sounds excited by what’s going on.
  • Damon Heta hits a nine-darter in his Third Round match against Luke Woodhouse:

Heta then took a 3-sets-to-1 lead ... before losing 9 (NINE) consecutive legs to lose 4-3.

  • Woodhouse's reaction to the 9-darter was great too, what theatre!

that was great - the view from the dart board that showed him cheering with the crowd as each of those last 3 darts went in was great. Fair play to the fella

30 to 35 visits at a rough guess, and my first nine darter. Absolutely magnificent. With the boy as well, first trip at 6, he's 20 now, fair to say we had a little bounce about
    That’s cracking mate
  • Price v Cullen was an insane match. Wow!!
  • I'm exhausted after that...

    Best game so far
  • Coming from 3-0 down and then hitting a 170 to go to a sudden death leg, i thought Cullen had it but he threw horribly in the last leg.

Chisnell v Evans and Price v Cullen definitely had the high drama and the best matches so far.

Luke Humphries won without breaking sweat 4-0 last night.

I’m not having it that Ryan Joyce is only 39.

Ricardo Pietreczko dominated Scott Williams 4-1 and the German crowd were in good voice.
  • Haven’t watched any of it but travelling back from an Xmas break in Edinburgh and two guys get on the train at Newcastle, sit opposite us and start talking darts. Long story short it was Ryan Joyce and his manager - really nice guys and we spent a few hours talking all sports but mainly football (manager was a Leeds fan).
Favourite bit was when my wife asked how does he stop the nerves standing in front of all those people - Ryan’s reply of “the 5 pints before I get up there helps ” was not only funny but when she questioned him he was serious it was true. Anyway we both watched today and cheered him on even though he agreed if he won Luke Littler in the next round would be a challenge.

And tonight I’ve learned that Stephen Bunting is still in his thirties!!!??

Sorry, there needs to be some sort of investigation into this.
