I'll wait for the weather forecast first if you don't mind!
    Snowing apparently.

Is anyone wanting to go to this but not sure cause of travel, I'm driving and wouldn't mind some help with petrol and happy to drive people.

The positives are, you'll get there with plenty of time, the negatives are, I listen to metal if that isn't your cup of tea, and I call another driver on the road a c**t on average one every 1 minute.
  • Coincides with the need to deliver my son back to university in Manchester so I'll be there...altho long drive back to SE10 after the game won't be welcome...

Are you sure you shouldn't be getting the train? It may take a bit longer but lower emissions, group save option on costs (presume this is a possibility with or without a railcard), and you can wear headphones and save everyone else's ears too (Decent headphones please).

I can't stand trains mate, unfortunately I also get train rage. They're expensive, they dont run on time and don't even get me started on when I have to pay for a ticket and stand up.

Jokes aside I'd get the train, but it's over £100 quid by the looks of things, and then I am relying on train companies being efficient (haha) whereas when I drive it's more in my hands.

Edit: tell a lie, it seems cheaper than I was originally told, I'll have a proper ganders now.

After the shambles of getting back from Huddersfield and the bad weather forecast I was fearing the worst yesterday, but as it turned out the trains ran perfectly, and plenty of seats too.

Cheapest I can find is still around £65 to £75 from Euston using trainsplit. The group discount is only 10% after the first 2 passengers and a complete faff to even get that. Ah well.. National express/ megabus options?

I have to be honest and say this is an 8 hour round trip drive for me if there aren't major road issues. A long time if we play a weakend team which I would probably do if I was Jones as the league has to be a priority. I know we haven't got midweek games around the fixture but it is a good opportunity to give some key players a rest.

That's a poor allocation. I'm sure we got more when we played them with SCP as manager.  And it's certainly not 15% of their capacity.

The away end holds 5k+. If we sell this out then they will release more

It isn't a full allocation it's merely a "starter for ten." If we had shifted these tickets we could have requested and been given thousands more. Their away end is huge. No point printing 5,000 tickets in advance.

Surprised how many are going, fair play
I’ve always thought we (strangely) travel well in any cup away games over the years

I’m pretty sure we’ll go full strength for this - I expect the same starting XI with no midweek game either side of it

Preston are evens! So clearly the bookies think it won’t be a walk in the park for them either.

Train peeps, what you done for going home? Am I right thinking a draw after 90 could lead to Extra Time and then penalties?

Have you booked a later train back, or taken a chance with it?

Dont see that myself or Preston.

Pity really as it always held a special Place for nearly everyone of a certain age.

I'm booked on the 18:01 back and I'll be on it regardless. Reckon I can leg it back to the station in 20 mins so it would only be penalties that would leave me in no man's land. Fingers crossed we've wrapped it up in normal time.

19.06 back, should be OK, if there's a silly amount of injury time and 30 odd penalties that may make things a bit tighter however...
