Placing here as a reminder of the reason about why Charlton fans dispise Scott Parker.  Euelley's right it was his choice to go at a time we needed him.

Three seasons in the Championship. Three promotions with three different clubs. 15 goals conceded in 44 matches and not a single game where they let in more than one goal. Only Leeds have a better goal difference and theirs is 21 goals better than third placed Sheffield United.

Could say he joins the right clubs with a good chance already but you still have to do it. Fair play.

    He’s still a wanker though
I think that title belongs to you. You obviously don't know him and probably he has achieved more than your goodself in his life.

It genuinely is a bit weird that he can do that well in the Championship but so badly in the Premiership (as a coach/manager). Obviously it's a different league and different challenges etc but the drop off is so stark.

Then again our own Nathan Jones seems to have had similar issues.

He's not having to compete against teams with huge budgets in the Championship when compared to the Prem.

He's only had one season, really - although yes Fulham did very badly....

Bournemouth he had 4 games I think?  And the three they lost were Arsenal, City and Liverpool.  Admittedly that last one was 9-0....

Yeah maybe he's poor in the PL.

Parker joins a very elite club of Charlton players that are universally disliked for one reason.

    Integrity.

    Him, Taylor & Defoe.

Don’t give a fuck what Parker achieved , his attitude in leaving us stunk and while I understand wanting to go and triple your salary with Russian blood money,  if you have no soul,  which is what he did but he could have not been such a bellend .
Curbs told me he had the hump with the whole way he went about it and he could have left with a bit more class , that’s good enough for me .

Curbs had no problems signing Scott Parker for West Ham.

West Ham United are delighted confirm that Scott Parker today completed a £7 million transfer from Newcastle United.
Alan Curbishley made the accomplished England international his first signing of the summer as the midfielder pen to paper on a five-year contract with the Hammers
"I'm delighted Scott has agreed to sign for us," said Curbs. "Our relationship goes back some time to when he first joined Charlton as a schoolboy.

Was watching the Burnley game yesterday and trying to explain to my kids why I was booing Parker whenever he appeared on screen. Must admit, it did sound a bit pathetic but old habits die hard.

I wonder what ridiculously priced piece of designer clothing, that we all now know cost the same to make in the same factory in China just without the label, he’ll parade about in during his brief spell in the EPL?

    Prick.

Managers and player relationships are always going to be weird (they are in a circle with each other). If the manager is at the right club, and the player is good then it is logical for them to sign them.

*- Curbs see him as a good player that is why he signed him for West Ham. I have seen some fans (on here) say he would make a good manager for charlton given his track record of getting teams promoted. Very much doubt he will ever be though since the wound is too big.

**- He was also the manager of Montserrat as well, but from what I understand Bowyer had more of a problem with Solly coming back than Taylor (it is just us that have more of the problem with Taylor).

Not for me - good Championship level manager, good Premier League level player.
