And of course Knight is out first ball after drinks!Addick Addict said:It seems that Dunkley has made some massive changes to her technique - she's marked her gloves to ensure her hands are aligned and in the correct place on the bat handle and has also brought the hands closer together so that they aren't fighting each other which can happen when they are far apart.
Excellent 53* off 26 balls and all the time Dunkley and Knight (18 off 19) are together we have a squeak of staying in the Ashes
96-3 and requiring 103 off 10 overs1 -
Off topic for the match but whose idea was it to put the test at the end of the series? What should be the showpiece event is likely to be totally irrelevant0
-
Dunkley goes for 59 (30). Uphill battle from here0
-
And Jones gone too, that's pretty much the game0
-
Had we been competitive (and not 4-0 down) then the Test match potentially becomes the decider whereas, had the Test been at the start and Australia won that and the first two ODIs then they would have automatically retained the Ashes with four games still to play.fenaddick said:Off topic for the match but whose idea was it to put the test at the end of the series? I've never understood why it isn't bang in the middle? Then it's always competitive. Play the ODI's, then the test and then the T20'sAddick Addict said:

141 all out0

But if Australia won two of the three ODIs and the Test, it would make the whole of the T20 Series worthless and that might, in turn, affect sales whereas people will probably always purchase tickets for the Test in advance. If Australia won all four games then those T20s really are dead rubbers. At least we still have a chance, although it won't happen, of drawing the series.fenaddick said:

For the first time in an eternity, we actually have a first choice white ball team out there.1
-
It would make a pretty good Test XI tookillerandflash said:For the first time in an eternity, we actually have a first choice white ball team out there.1 -
Good to see England pick their best XI0
-
Some genuine pace in England's bowling0
-
Guess my only concern is Salt and Duckett being very boom or bust as an opening pair.0
-
Interesting that Brook is VC rather than Salt. The England management clearly see Brook as a future leader.2

Jamie Overton with his 97 Test batting average wasted at 7.Chizz said:

They need to line someone up for the Test team given Stokes's age and injury issues, Pope's form and the fact that Crawley (who i think they would have considered the "right sort" at some stage at least) is under a bit of pressure.killerandflash said:Interesting that Brook is VC rather than Salt. Why not give the guy who is definitely sticking in the team some captaincy experience.2 -

I do recognise that Bashir is the nightwatchman but I do wonder how many time in his career he's batted - at 3 at any age!MarcusH26 said:https://www.cricket.com.au/matches/CA:22743/cricket-australia-xi-men-england-lions-ca-xi-v-england-lions-men?tab=scorecard

That summary doesn't seem quite right.1 -
India win the toss and have elected to bat. Strong Indian side but without the likes of Rohit, Bumrah, Shami, Kohli, Pant, Jadeja, Ashwin etc, it certainly has a different look about it. Slightly surprised that India are such clear favourites at 1.65 (England 2.54) even having won the toss.0

Great first over by Arshdeep0
-
Shame for Kent that he's far better with the white ball than the redkillerandflash said:Great first over by Arshdeep0 -
Great over by Chak* Our batting lineup now looks a bit short0
-
Our batting has been rather one dimensional with Buttler being that dimension. He's 50* off 34 and the other five batsmen are 28 off 37.0
