“Wall” have always run behind the away end 😉Lewis Coaches said:
This I found in a book, Football grounds from the air.  Picture taken 1970. After council had brought the land from Charlton. Shows the wall that stills runs behind Jimmy Seed Stand.3 -

I know that it is all relative and we live in different times with higher expections, but could you imagine the face of someone who watched Charlton in that old ground as they stare at the modern Valley?Stig said:
Great picture. Looks like there's a river running through the pitch. People queuing up to see the world angling championships.Gribbo said:

Might be mistaken but the bloke front row second left was called Keith, and he was my manager at Villacourt Rovers in about 1980 (U7’s).DA9 said:Not sure if I’ve posted these before from the clean up Sunday

Apart from posing with the knobs, did any of you actually do any clearing up?! not a shovel between you, and that feller in the middle in the top picture looks like he's posing for a Cotton Traders catalogue.DA9 said:Not sure if I’ve posted these before from the clean up Sunday

That's sad. Last time I saw him he was "conducting affairs" when it was kicking off with Southampton at London Bridge (1980s Selhurst days).DA9 said:

I was about to say the same thing mate. I was on the bridge with him when they came up. I seem to remember a champagne bottle being wielded by the other lot for some reason. 😂SporadicAddick said:

My abiding memories were his Sid James laugh and his lit cigarette going up in the air and him getting busy when we gave Lincoln a reception at welling Utd the season after they broke a Charlton fans arm at Selhurst park after a league cup gameSporadicAddick said:
