Octopus Energy radio ads. It's because it's on twice every ad break and the woman's voice really grates on me. Even my boys have grown to hate it and they're only 8!

They spend a fortune on ad space with Global radio group.
Those case studies they use are right dubious, you get about £200 to have your voice used and then everyone hates you forever.
Jaguar gone woke. Apparently going for a rebrand as they’re in between the entry level luxury car market like Audi and the high end market like Bentley and have no brand equity. They’re not even breaking even on their models at the moment. They’re pitching a new range starting at 100k in 2025 so the ad has done what they wanted it to by getting people talking about them.
They are putting their adverts out there so you remember them. Some find them annoying some are interested, but the fact that you remember them is what they are trying to achieve The fact you are moaning about them on here means others who have not seen them are made aware of them The advertiser's are winning
The objective of advertising is to build an affinity with a brand and / or product; to make you want to associate yourself with it which is more likely to make that brand or product a purchase consideration.
If you talk about the advert because it alienates you from the brand, the advertisers certainly aren’t winning.

The objective of advertising may be to build an affinity with a brand, but it may be at a more basic level to build awareness of a brand and / or product, in which case they may be prepared to take a few hits in order to make a wider impact. I'm sure they'll be doing plenty of market research to ensure that the pluses outweigh the minuses.
Any midweek afternoon advert, that wants to write my will, get me an over 50s plan to pay for my funeral, and then the adverts to sell me a bloody funeral.

"but you have many years to go!"- I would add that one where the soppy twosome are talking about how they arranged travel insurance despite having every known illness.
Oh and people discussing pressure cleaners / wet and dry vacuums / hedge trimmers who have never trimmed a hedge or used a pressure washer in their lives.
The really depressing one for the Alzheimers Society that goes on about how many times Mum dies. Yes, it's a serious message and yes, I'm sure they do good work. But, as someone with a close relative suffering from Alzheimer's, the last thing I want is to keep being reminded of bad times and likely bad futures every time I listen to the radio or watch telly.

I've posted about this before on here. I think the advert is absolutely disgraceful for several reasons. I lost my dad to early onset dementia and I just imagine him hearing those adverts at the start of his dementia journey... I really, really don't like it.

Entirely understand your take on this Stig. On the other hand it’s a difficult call for the charity to have to make.

Yeah not saying it's easy, and I'm not looking for rainbows and unicorns and a false sense of hope. I just don't want to be beaten over the head all the gloom, and as Huskaris says I don't suppose anyone who's living with it would want that either.
Yep, I find that Alzheimers ad offensive too. Imagine saying that your Mum had died just because she couldn't remember how to make a Sunday roast! It doesn't kill you over and over again, rather it gradually blocks the pathways to all the different things that combine together to make you "you". (I say blocks the pathways, rather than destroying them, because sometimes particular music or smells or other triggers mean you can route around the blocks temporarily). I much prefer the depiction in the Cadbury's Whole Nut ad, where the Dad doesn't recognise his adult daughter as his daughter, but he remembers that she buys a bar for him for his birthday every year.
On a lighter note, WTAF is the new KFC advert with the giant golden egg all about?

Especially the utterly woke one with a load of weirdos in it who apparently are advertising a luxury, once British built, car.
Go woke go broke

never but one after having that awful Benson Boone song violate my eardrums constantly.
Will be popping down to Crayford tomorrow and demanding that I be picked up as I look around for a new kettle.
Will let you know how I get on.
Actually liquid, not pills.
