That Wrexham defeat means we're close to having the second best Defence in the League, in terms of Goals Conceded - Will look a good stat when we finish second

5 points off second. Wycombe v Wrexham on Saturday. It’s on, I tell ya
  • Liverpool v PSG going to extra time on Amazon Prime TV now  ... just saying.

It's absolutely mad that if our games against Wycombe and Wrexham were next up, and we won them both, the absolute WORST case scenario would be us being 2 points off automatic promotion.

A draw there and a win for us and the gap narrows to 3 points by 5pm on Saturday...

Lloyd Jones always plays well but tonight he was absolutely magnificent. Good right winger at one amazing moment. Gillesphey and Edwards both excellent too. COYR.

3 points is all that matters atm keep the pressure on the teams above us and I think they will crack. Second place is now in our sights !

I thought Gilbert did enough to keep the place ahead of Berry

Defence has been superb the last few games. Not only keeping the goals out but scoring them as well. Time for others to step up now. Need to win Sat & then hopefully we can get a weeks break as I think quite a few are running on fumes.

And I know I'm going to get flamed for this but I'll say it anyway. We might catch Wrexham & Wycombe but the latter might pip us on GD. So I'll say it one last time - I couldn't give a shit if we don't keep another clean sheet as long as we score at least 2 more than our opponents. We might just need to get our GD up a tad......unless we beat Wycombe 4 or 5 nil.

In the last 25 minutes we were over-run in the midfield.

I would drop Edwards, as we need an extra man in the midfield.

Outplayed, by a team heading (most likely) for relegation.

    Jones saved us.

I mean Edwards was dropped in the last 35-minutes...

A couple of weeks ago I said the POTY was a hard one to pick. I think it’s pretty obvious who is going to get it. The bloke is immense. Best centre back we’ve had in years.
Another win and clean sheet ground out. Perfect display for this stage of the season.
Hopefully Edwards isn’t badly injured. He played brilliantly up until that point.
U21s win 7 nil with a Dixon hat trick and all the results go our way.
    Could well be our year.

We are picking up wins when we play well and not losing when we play poorly. This is a sign of a team that are going places.

We are a now few wins away from me asking Nathan Jones to be my kids godfather.

We had chances to make it more comfortable but didn't take them that would be my only complaint otherwise another clean sheet win happy days.

Still think top 2 won't happen but it's good to dream and be in the mix and a nice buffer to 7th now

Not the prettiest game but 3 points are all that matters at this stage of the season, especially given how results also went in our favour. Could still have scored more. Some bizarre decisions from the officials too. A few more 6 pointers this weekend too at the top so 5pm on Saturday could be very interesting!

I've watched better things. Like my own colonoscopy. Much like my colonoscopy though after a generally sedate event with a few uncomfortable moments here and there it ended with a positive outcome and I shouldn't have to go there again for a long time all being well. I have nothing else to add, you get the colonoscopy analogy today. Goodnight.

Gilbert who appeared to be a nothing January loan is making a difference. Maybe he was sought out after all.

Very happy to be wrong about the collective ability of this squad.

Nice to get revenge on Crawley, that home game at The Valley really felt like we were gonna spend the season looking down the table rather than up. No matter how the season ends, what a genuinely fun turnaround it’s been. Lovely ugly 1-0 win in parts tonight, resolute defending on the whole with Lloyd Jones heading away absolutely everything. Roll on Wigan at The Valley.

It wasn't pretty, but it was a win, a clean sheet, a magnificent defence,  another three points and some fighting performances out there.
Jones just gets better and better, Gillesphey is transformed, Small with a great goal, Mannion immense.
    Really amazing change for us.

And a quick shout out to Crawley who looked a lot better than their league placing suggested.

Vital 3 points on the road.

A leggy performance though. That seemed like one game too many for some. I thought Anderson and Leaburn were poor, but defence was excellent again.

Good 3 points, but we’re fortunate that Crawley couldn’t finish their dinner - if they had a decent striker it might have been a different story.

Today me is annoyed they don’t sell beer in the away end (must lose a fortune) but tomorrow morning me will appreciate it.
  • Solid performance, a win and another clean sheet. Hitting 4th spot is the icing!

I find it amazing that Welsh scouts aren't making enquiries about Jones. Another fantastic performance tonight.

Even the post couldn't get the better of him...

I think it was a case of whether we got the second, and all the time we didn't then Crawley had hope, but on reflection they never looked like scoring and if we would have scored that second, when we dominated the first half, it wouldn't have mattered. I have to say Jones onus on defence is now starting to pay dividends, with Ramsay moving into that back three they are rock solid. If we can beat Wigan then we have a short break before our next midweek game, away to Mansfield, and if we maintain this form and steer clear of injuries then the 21st and 26th April, the games at Wycombe and Wrexham become cup finals, I'm confident we will make the play offs but those two games will decide if we make second place.

Another demonstration from us why you build from the back, and a demonstration from Bolton of the pitfalls in the games against struggling teams in the final third of the season.

I can't quite make my mind up if we are starting to look a touch leggy and could do with a game off for the international break, or if we are going to really click soon and give some a proper hiding. A lot of people saying we weren't that fluent tonight, but there were a couple of spells where we were getting in behind at will and just couldn't find that killer moment again.

Great win, and defence superb (again) but we made hard work of it, and were quite lucky again to win. Why on earth Hylton comes on ahead of Kanu is embarrassing - last 15 minutes were a tough watch
