Nathan Jones is currently printing out mugshots of every Charlton player so Curtis Flemming can run them down to Bluewater tomorrow and have them posted behind the counter at the Louis Vuitton store with "Do Not Serve These Men" in big letters above them.
Absolutely loved that away win. Was there also celebrating my lad’s 18th. Popped him in a weeny Charlton baby grow as soon as he was born those 18 years ago and he has never looked back, through every peak and trough so far…

That interview is priceless! Costa Coffee won't be happy either

When I were 18, I lived t’in a shoebox in t’middle of A2.
We wer in third tier n’all. An we were grateful forit.

In all seriousness, congrats to your young fella.
Hope he’s looking forward to making many more memories. And then coming back here and sharing his wisdom in a few years time. 🤔
It’s the kids I feel sorry for , anyone around 18 has just been drowned in third tier shit and it’s been utter shit most of their footballing lives, please let it end real soon before the play off torture . Crawley are going down and made a game of it. Lloyd Jones unbelievable . Gilbert whilst getting in positions couldn’t finish his dinner . Id take Hyltons brain and nous over the runaround of Kanu at that point in the game all day long . these recent games I look and think we’re solid as you like but guff as an attacking threat so can see us going a few games without a win but they grind out results that beg to differ to my thinking . Every match I feel sick before during and after relax for ten mins while asleep then start shitting it again (literally and metaphorically) about us being more than capable of fucking it all up but these lads keep grinding it out , beyond superb this turnaround. i want this done before The play off lottery . big shout out to the mrs who took petrol head down there , she’s done some miles , has zero interest in football and doesn’t want us to go up cos it’ll mean more people and busyness at games , she just enjoys us all being together when we can as a family with cousins and friends , bless her but I’m a football snob get me out of here .
Listening to the game on CATV from my Leicester hospital bed, and we've learned to win ugly! If we win ugly for the remaining games I'd happily accept that, it could see us in 2nd place. NJ's post match interview with Charlotte was excellent, if players wives want to go shopping then that's fine, BUT, players will be staying at home for some much needed R&R, and this will be the same for the next 10 weeks! The club, I feel, is on the way back to being a proper club again!! COYR's
Gilbert, Miles, and Karoy as starters made us not the best version of ourselves. Which is why it was harder to get a goal. All our fullbacks were brilliant. Big fan of Lloyd Jones like everybody else.
Nathan Jones points out that winning without the skipper after his wife gives birth could be to his detriment. Now that's what I call a football manager!
In terms of grabbing a potential rest for the Posh game. What people have to think about is we are in the final stretch and if we can get a couple of weeks before that to get the levels up to the max that surely has to benefit us in terms of what is to come.
I thought everyone made a good contribution to that win. I'll add my thoughts about Anderson as he's getting some criticism, he was doing everything that Doc does, working increadibly hard, all over the pitch, getting a foot in, driving us forward, didn't always come off in an attacking way but put a massive shift in. I think we can accept that currently, and maybe never will be a massive creative attacking threat but he did a great job.
Jones saying about rest and recovery reminds me of Sir Chris Hoy talking about the Olympic cyclists. They lived by "don't stand when you can sit, dont sit when you can lay down".
Can I just say how refreshing it is to have faith in your goalkeeper. Mannion's handling is excellent - when he comes for it he usually gets a good fist to the ball or catches it. Towards the end they had a couple of corners & 1 he came right out & caught it. Took all the pressure off.
And he's kicking is not too shabby either.
Ahead of one of Crawley’s (seemingly endless) corners last night one of our fans shouted him to “punch it to Gatwick”!
Was at the game last night and I think I may have celebrated a bit too much. My head is bloody killing me this morning. 2nd spot guaranteed I'm telling you.
Not looked at forthcoming fixtures, taking one game at a time. Seen some comments about postponing a game due to international break in order to give the players a rest. I say don’t. Carry on while we have the momentum.
Agree. Also postponing it will give us another 3 game week later on.
I thought that Alex Gilbert did very well, considering that he hasn't had much game time before. Strangely enough, it was his set piece delivery that was a bit off.
I don't think Miles suits our current game plan - We seem more dangerous with Godden on the pitch.
We are now 5 points into the play off places, we look comfortable defensively, though crawley squandered a few chances when they did get in the box, same as the last game.
I feel like we are really close to being a top side but there are still areas of concern.
In terms of support from the Home end last night, Crawley's fans were praising of how loud we were and I actually was around maybe 10 -15 other charlton fans in the home terrace. There was no animosity towards me or the other CAFC fans, they were actually pretty fair, though the ref did start giving us a lot of the 50-50 fouls. Not sure Quitirna dived either...

A painful watch, especially with most of the action down the other half in the second half, but superb defending.
Wishing you well young man. 🫡

This'll have to stop too ... way too strenuous!
Boo!

That's an actual country not a band from the 70s.
