Automatics still feel like a long shot - I reckon maybe 87 points could do it, would mean Wycombe only getting 18 from 11 games, and we'd still then need 8 wins from 10.
But again it's nice having this conversation not "We still need 3 wins to stay up and I can't see where they're coming from" like the last few years.
I've just done some (hopeful) predictions and managed to see us getting autos but we'd need to go undefeated. Think Wrexham could lose to us, Stockport and maybe Blackpool and Wycombe could lose to us and Reading. Wycombe LOVE a draw at the moment and Wrexham seem to have a few injuries. We need to capitalise in the next couple of weeks and obviously against both of them
Our autos % has only gone up a few % but look at that play off promotion % now!
Round those xPTS tallies for Wycombe (87) and Wrexham (83 or 84) and that gives you a sense of what we might have to do, while hoping the other two teams don’t outperform that expectation. We simply must take points off of both of them to reduce their points potential, win or draw.
To get to 88 points, we need eight wins and a draw from our last 10 games.

Wycombe’s run in is really quite difficult . I doubt our ability to win enough games but they might easily drop enough
It’s been a phenomenal turnaround. I still think the dropped points against Blackpool and Barnsley could come back to haunt us but whatever way you cut it, it’s been a brilliant run.
Bring on the play offs if we do fall short of 2nd.

You've got to look at those results in the context of a last minute winner vs Orient (twice), Peterborough, etc
Barnsley have sacked Darrell Clarke. To the surprises of absolutely no-one who saw the match at The Valley, Conor Hourihane has taken over as caretaker. He looked more like he was the manager the way he carried on on the sidelines anyway. Barnsley most likely have too much to do now but it's another team whose form could change dramatically with a big change

Lets hope the new manager bounce can last until they play Bolton
3 points on bank holiday Monday vs Wycombe sets us up for a winner takes second match in Wrexham the following weekend.
Sky move it to a Friday evening for an under the lights promotion special!
Heard it here first!
Charlton win in dramatic fashion and now only need a point at home to Burton Albion next weekend to confirm their promotion…
We’ll be going into the last match needing to win to go up automatically. It’ll be like the 1975 promotion match against PNE where despite going behind and missing a penalty, we went on to win 3-1 sparking a mass pitch invasion. Newspaper headlines the next day .. ‘Happy Valley’

What a night that was!
I would hazard a guess that The Valley would be close to a home sell-out for the Burton game if we need to win to get second.

They’ve only got 17 points from their last 10 and have an incredibly difficult run in

Absolutely. I’m being greedy. Perhaps what I actually mean is it’s a shame we took so long to get going. We’d be comfortably in 2nd if we’d had this or similar form from August.
Does anyone know of a website that can show Charlton's league position week by week this season? Would be interesting.
Interesting you say that. The last month or two has reminded me of a scene in The Damned United where they time lapse the 1968/69 Division 2 League table and Derby's rise up it to the end of season where the are crowned Champions. This is interseeded with footage of MOTD & commentary showing goals being scored.
The one annoying fact is that season Palace finished 2nd & us 3rd. But only the top 2 went up 😡.
What is also interesting is that we have lost or drawn (combined) as many games as we have won. Shows its a competitive league or to put a negative spin on it.... a shit league.
As strong as we feel, over the course of the year, and despite our high league position we've been a bit meh.
Wigan have appointed Ryan Lowe. Very good appointment that and potentially quite an annoying one given we play them on Saturday. The good news is he won't be overseeing the team for our match so the best thing possible is he have no effect this week and then really hit his stride when they play Bolton, Orient and Wrexham. That would be super

Absolutamente SI!
UP THE ADDICKS! 💪🏻💪🏻
Cheers from Madrid! ☀️ ☀️😉👍
For the first time since the play-off final under Bowyer and JJ these words haven't been deep fried in irony and wrapped up in a cynical wrap.

A 'U' shaped season so far
