I thought MacIntyre had one of the worst games by an individual player since Naby Sarr got absolutely schooled by Ishmael Miller vs Huddersfield in 2015. What exactly has done to have fallen so far out of favour?

Many years ago I dreamt that one day we will have a play off final at Wembley against a team who are filming a documentary. We score the winner in the very last minute. Wrexham are filming a documentary, so this must be an omen.
    Masicat never wrong :)

Enjoyed the game, atmosphere was good. We’re a good team, such a shame about that awful run. Godden and Berry played well, Chuks is past it but fair play for a great flick on for the goal. I think we deserved the win but they weren’t terrible. If we win Monday the end of the season could get exciting.

Berry was head and shoulders above the rest today. Quality performance
    You've spelt "Jones" wrong
  • Tough watch but well happy with the win.
    Thought Northampton played well.
As for the ref, as bad as anything we have had this season.

Off to a good start and a cracking finish from Berry but Northampton then had a good spell of pressure, culminating in a truly ridiculous penalty.

McIntyre had a stinker - such an odd player, in 4 starts he's been mom twice and been diabolical the other two times. We were lucky they didn't score more from his mistakes. Hopefully Gillesphey is back for the next game.

Second half, NJ changed formation and brought on Chuks and we improved. Chuks can't run at all any more, the ball has to be played in to his feet or onto his head. He was a handful today though and got a good assist for Godden's winner.

Godden had to feed off scraps all game but I was celebrating before he even hit the winner. There was no way he was going to miss! (Edit: I forgot it was him that missed the sitter!)

Our passing was petty bad throughout, lots of hoofball and simple passes lacking the correct weight. Very unusual that Edwards was one of the main culprits.

Coventry had a decent game, Docherty helped out defensively but didn't get forward enough for me.  Jones showed that we've missed him. I thought Berry played well even apart from his goal.

TC had 2-3 players on him all game but still managed to put in some dangerous crosses. Small was his erratic self, with moments of quality, mixed with crazy decision making like taking on his man near our goal line. Jones went nuts at him when he failed to run for a ball towards the end.

Not the best of games but an important result that keeps second place alive.

Route one works! Great winner from a terrific cushioned header from Chuks and clinical finish from Godden. Smart goal from Berry too.

Fair play to Northampton who worked hard throughout but even an off key Charlton were just too good. Jones was commanding as ever and great to see him back. Hope Macca's muscles relax a bit over the weekend because we need him back as his replacement's confidence is shot after the most stonewall handball in the box I have ever seen.

That felt like some of our recent away performances, grinding out an ugly win.

McIntyre was definitely a weak link at the back Jones was a bit rusty but grew into the gabe, especially after McIntyre was subbed off.

Berry was very good, Godden also was busy - 2 chances, 1 goal is fair enough. Small very good when he makes the right decisions, which is 3/4 of the time.

Wasn't sure about the late triple sub, it seemed to give the initiative back to Northampton. And left us without any pressing up front. Ahadme might have been a major disappointment, but definitely could do a job harrying their defenders.

Great result. That's all that matters. It's league 1. 3 more wins like today regardless how we play. There is a resilience and belief in this team.

Before I get round to the match, I bloody hope that their guy, think it was No25, gets a ban for the deliberate stamp on Mannion's foot after he collected a cross and lay on the ground, which resulted in the spat at the end...Bloody cheating gits the lot of them...ably assisted by their 12th man in Black...🤦‍♂️

Thought NJ got it wrong not having Mitchell on the bench. MacIntyre was awful. Ref was worse. Talk about stealing a living. Thought Northampton made it very difficult for us, aided by the ref. We never really got going. Jones looked a bit rusty to start with but grew into it. Hope Gilly is back on Monday. Thought Doc unlucky to be subbed off, thought he did ok. Small had a poor game. Godden did what you expect him too, he's an excellent finisher. Final word for Josh Edwards, my MOM. I love the bloke, always gives 100%, always at least a 7/10, fair play to whoever scouted him. Well worth the fee paid 👏

Performance was very similar to the Lincoln game. Another weak ref suited Northampton’s plan to a tee, but in their defence they did try and push for a winner in amongst the time wasting and lying on the floor. Nothing new to say about McIntyre, Small looked like a zombie, but we’ve confirmed playoffs and gone above Stockport which is a big achievement after our start to the season.

    Just win games.

Northampton far from the worst visiting team this season and they stopped us playing.

When we did break the press or get the ball down we looked decent but that didn't happen very often.

Instead we got sucked into endless head tennis.

Two excellent finishes from Berry and Godden got us out of a hole.

McIntyre showed how good Gillesphy has been.

Gilbert looked useful. Shame we've not seen more of him.

No surprise that teams managed by Nathan Jones and Kevin Nolan ended the game in a scrap but we're not afraid to mix it when needed.

    Play-off spot in the bag.

    Autos still possible but unlikely.

    Onto Wycombe.

Points are always the main consideration at the business end of the season and rarely do they come easily. Playoffs secure now and those games will be a different animal altogether. Let’s celebrate the playoffs when I suspect pretty much everyone thought it was mission impossible just three months ago. I certainly did. All credit to Nathan Jones and what he’s accomplished. COYR

Last 20 minutes of today has got me really hoping we can pinch second. I don't think I can take the stress of playoffs

A win’s a win but we’ll have to play much better in the playoffs to get up.

Wasn’t the best performance of the season but a win is a win and at this time of the season, I’ll take it. 2nd place is still up for grabs but we’ll have to rely on other teams. As the Black Eyed Peas once sang .. ‘I’ve got a feeling’

Chucks gets an assist that maybe only Leaburn out of our other strikers would’ve got.

Some things happen from time to time that one cannot grasp.
The McIntyre handball was absolutely inexplicable, a very serious apparition is all I can put it down to.🧐

NJ writing his own narrative here. Back in the summer I don't think anyone was questioning the signing of Godden. What a lot of people were questioning was the sale of Alfie May.

But of course NJ wont mention that.

The handball was so blatant even I appealed for it. Ridiculous.
Hard fought win against a half decent team. The proverbial "we would have lost that last season".
Not expecting 2nd and although some games recently have been a struggle when we are missing a player or two, the way we can often get a result holds us in good stead especially over two legs.
