He didn't at the time. Was pleading his innocence like mad. But that just footballers for you I s'pose.
He’s deleted that post by the looks of it.

If Chuks had only one jump left in him then he saved it for that! What a flick on that was.

If you look at our record in the past two seasons of Chuks on the pitch vs Chuks not, it just shows that he makes things happen.

The only time we’ve conceded more than we’ve scored while he’s been on the pitch was away at Blackpool a couple of months ago.

His legs may have gone, but I love Chuks Aneke.
Hold on a sec..I see him out sprint one of Northamptons defenders!

Also mentioned he may have injured himself so possibly back to normal!
Yes he did, but you have to cover your eyes when he sprints like that. Could be a season ender 🙁.
  • Feels like a complete disservice to Chuks, but he’s our Parker this season.

    But he’ll score at Wembley…

Haven't got round to marking myself yet, but a quick check on the players marks thread looks like I must have been watching another game judging by the marks being given to that absolute prat of the alleged ref...🤦‍♂️

  • Haven't seen the goal back but watching in person the flick on by Aneke and finish by Godden was a thing of absolute beauty.
Same.  Sitting behind and just off to the side of the net, as soon as it fell to Godden, I just knew.

What’s happened to our press and urgency?
And why are we returning to hoof ball?
Coventry looks tired and needs a rest imo.
Still not convinced TC is fully fit.

Ugly performance but a beautiful win.

Nice to see the Valley relatively full. Thought the atmosphere was a bit flat. Covered End superb as always. At one point they started a "if you love Charlton stand up" and it genuinely looked like about 80% of the stadium (excluding CE) remained seated.

Got a team in 4th, chance of autos and people still don't back the team other than when we score. Hopefully in the play-offs (if we don't sneak 2nd) we can vocally back the team a bit more as a one off at least.

They did their homework, TC was marked out of the game, and no TC, no party. A great Chuks knock on gave us a good chance and I think most people expected Godden to bury it, great finisher.

Hopefully that's enough of McIntyre now and either Gillesphey will be back or Alex Mitchell can come into the fold.
    PTCADD mate.

  • Horrible game to watch. Cobblers time wasting (until we led) and they seemed to cancel out our midfield. I think I am now a belated Gillespie fan.

I'm more of an apple pie man myself...🙄

As he should. Always put doubt in the referee's mind and he'll possibly give you a borderline one in your favour later
I understand the theory, but that only works when there's any room for doubt. To paraphrase Curbishley, short of actually catching the ball and handing it to the ref with a signed confession, he couldn't have made it more obvious

Nothing wrong with a route one goal. The key is to have a runner to meet the Chuks flick
Completely agree if you have a big man up there you need to link for the flick ons and on this occasion it worked to perfection!

We're so incredibly inconsistent. Northampton came to do a job and got away with it for the most part. Their goal was a stupid error from McIntyre. Overall we were still much better than them.

TC needs to be quicker with his decision making and more alert on the break, add to this that our team need to look for his breaks and we could have a really good player. We almost need him to study Lloyd Sam in League 1 footage.

Anyway kids had fun and we won so onto the next one.

Berry was head and shoulders above the rest today. Quality performance
I found it tough between Berry and Mannion but Mannion edged it for me. Although I called the penalty to those around me - player was obviously set up to go to mannion's right. I think most keepers would have read that.

Not sure how a player backing into Mannion holding the ball wasn't a foul, will have to see a replay but was shocked with the refereeing.
  • We were awful but won. Some woeful defending that has to improve.
  • We are mathematically in the play offs as a minimum.

We need to keep our good form momentum and (hopefully) chisel out 3 wins whilst Wrexham and Wycombe mess up against us and at least one other of their matches.

If Wrexham and Wycombe don't mess up we do it via the play offs.
  •  Good call to replace McIntyre who made two big mistakes, one leading to the penalty and a miss kick back pass that we managed to survive.
I literally said to the guy next to me as McIntyre went for the falling ball, he's gonna scuff this... And boom he scuffs it. Poor player. Not sure what he adds.
