Three seasons in the Championship. Three promotions with three different clubs. 15 goals conceded in 44 matches and not a single game where they let in more than one goal. Only Leeds have a better goal difference and theirs is 21 goals better than third placed Sheffield United.
He’s still a wanker though
I think that title belongs to you. You obviously don't know him and probably he has achieved more than your goodself in his life.
Prick

I know he's only a kid, but even back then Defoe looked like a bell end.
Personally,i am willing to give Defoe a pass on his leaving. It was rumored that there where considerable financial rewards made to his family,so at his young age at the time,he would have had very little say in the matter.I do recall, when he played for Spurs in the game that ultimately relegated us,he scored for them and did not celebrate,as he was entitled to do after the abuse he got from us over the years.Parker was different,he made his own decision to leave at a critical time for our club, and probably cost us European football.
defoe had been with us for 2 years 14-16 i think and spent time at Lilleshall whilst with us , so it's hardly all the way through our academy like i believe Parker was

Evidently, one of the ‘extra’ enticements was for the family home to be redecorated at West Ham’s expense.

Obviously he would have done what it's parents wanted but that's not how the mindset of a football fan works! He also proved himself to be a great person when he was at Sunderland.
I don't understand the hatred towards defoe, and as mentioned, he was only 16.
He didn't even play 1st team football for us.
You could blame Harry rednapp for it but that's also kind of pointless.
Curbs was great at signing players because to put extra work in to lure them to Charlton.
Rednab was a twat but that's football for ya and it happened almost 30 years ago
I think it’s partly because of the celebrating in front of us when scoring thing. I know it’s a bit chicken and egg but I honestly don’t remember him getting boos (relatively) before he started doing that.
Didn't he also ask for a transfer as soon as West Ham were relegated? Classy guy.
During his playing career, he wasn't classy or loyal at all but I don't think many other players were either.
To be a professional footballer of that level, you have to be very competitive and motivated to always be the best and play at the highest possible standard.
He was a great forward via 442 playing upfront and likely very good to play alongside with up top.
Unfortunately, most players these days who are naturally gifted/premier league level probably won't ever stay at Charlton for longer than 5 minutes.
I can't say I care that much. I just love my club Charlton for what it is and I always will

He was getting booed as he was warming up a sub during the 4-4 game! I couldn't care less about him celebrating scoring a goal for his club.

Retirement has brought out the aggressive nature in you, go back to work and calm down
What could of been...
A very rare photo............................of Parker smiling.
Defoe to his right, who is it to his left?
