Must admit I am dreading this one. Deep down I feel playoffs it is for us. I am still dreaming though. 1-0 Godden in the last minute and pulls out a red clowns nose putting it on in front of the Wrexham fans.15

Also getting TC to run at EOC will be a complete mismatch. The defence is a fairly slow in general so pace could be a factor for us.
Naturally would settle for a 1-0 win but ideally want a result that's comfortable enough so it doesn't cause a heart attack! Nervous already tbf!
2-1 Charlton (Godden and Campbell)
Small, Ramsay and Kanu didn't feature last time out and we were still playing a 4-box-2. They still had Palmer and Mullin up top and a different make up of midfield. This game will be a totally different tactical proposition to the last one but I would bet it's going to be a very physical game with a bit of edge to it
The CMs are similar to ours as in they are industrious and pick up loose balls for the odd goal etc. Agree though that KA should start if Berry cant. He has looked more assured.
Lloyd Jones is the one you want to start though. Think he can look after Fletcher and give him some shit as Fletcher is an aggy bloke!10 -

On the absolute off chance anybody here is at Woburn Center Parcs on Saturday, head to the sports bar where there will be a group of us Addicks watching from the side screens which are showing the game.1

Re-posting something I had on the knock-off Wrexham preview thread: the mini-league of the top seven sides in Division Three:
Club Pl W D L Goals GD Pts Points per match 1 Birmingham City 12 7 4 1 17:08 9 25 2.08 2 Charlton Athletic 11 5 4 2 13:08 5 19 1.73 3 Wrexham AFC 11 4 3 4 13:13 0 15 1.36 4 Stockport County 11 4 3 4 12:16 -4 15 1.36 5 Leyton Orient 11 4 1 6 11:13 -2 13 1.18 6 Reading FC 12 3 4 5 09:15 -6 13 1.08 7 Wycombe Wanderers 10 2 1 7 14:16 -2 7 0.70
Our record against the top sides is very good ... and better than Wrexham's (and will stay better than theirs regardless of what happens tomorrow).
There is no reason why we would go into this match with an inferiority complex and after Monday's shellacking of Wycombe we should feel we can take on anyone and win.
It's a "must win" for us in terms of an automatic spot and this is where we have an advantage over Disney FC: if they miss out on automatic promotion they'll see it as a disappointment being in the play-offs given they've been top two practically all season; if we miss out on going straight up we'd still celebrate being in the play-offs considering where we were after Crawley at home in December. Missing out on the top two won't be as big a disaster for us as it would be for them.
I'd say the pressure is on the oppo tomorrow and they hint coped very well in recent weeks. If we can get a good press going high up the ground we can force them into mistakes and if we get the first goal then they should know it's goodnight cos we don't lose points from that position!8 -

- Wrexham have lost just one of their last eight league games against Charlton Athletic (W3 D4), with this exact fixture being played for the first time since September 1981 and a 1-0 win for the Welsh side.
- Charlton Athletic have won just one of their prior six away league games against Wrexham (D2 L3), a 3-0 victory in December 1974.
- Wrexham have lost just two of their 22 home league games this season (W15 D5), though their last home defeat came against a side from London in a 2-1 loss to Leyton Orient in February.
- Charlton have failed to win any of their last seven league games against sides from Wales (D4 L3), since a 2-1 victory over Cardiff City in March 2015.
I'm not bricking it as much as I was last week. Last week seemed like do or die, but now we know we can go anywhere and win I'm not fearing Wrexham.
I'm expecting Lloyd Jones to start but Berry not to (maybe on the bench ?). Would like to see both Mbick AND Kanu on the bench and for them both to come on with 15 to go to give their leggy defenders the run around.
Cant / wont give a prediction only to say hats off to anyone who last week jested "comfortable 4-0 away win".5 -
2-0 to them. After the Lord mayor's from us, with our guys also nervous in front of the bigger crowd, proving there's a lack of nouse for the big occasion and undermining any play off hopes. Backing this heavily on William Hill.com to win favour of the football gods.4

3-1 away win, Godden with two, and Gillesphey.3

Going for another 0-4 win, would be happy with 0-3...maybe not so comfortable as Wycombe, but we should take the lead early on, repel all boarders after that until finishing them off with late goals...and why not!0

Nervous as hell already here !!! I honestly cant call this game it really could go either way it depends which team deal with the occasion better. If we deal with it and play to our abilities then we win simple as that, we are man for man the better team COYRS1

Us playing last definitely affects things, as the Wycombe and Stockport games could add extra pressure onto us, and especially Wrexham. If both of them win, the table at 5:30 will be
Wycombe 45 87
Wrexham 44 86
Stockport 45 84
Charlton 44 82

0-1 Charlton - late winner1

As I posted on another thread, come on Charlton!
Neutrals want to see a proper club promoted, not a plastic bankrolled circus.
I can assure you of this: if you can win tomorrow, every player and supporter of Lincoln City will be busting a gut on the final day. The game is already a sellout, and Sincil Bank can be a really hostile place for the wrong team.24 -
I can’t help thinking that our performance on Saturday will pale into insignificance come 3pm. That aside all I will say is do your best, Charlton. Get that win and head into the play-offs with confidence and momentum. If we have to get promotion at Wembley, then so be it. COME ON L’ORIENT, COME ON CHARLTON … BELIEVE!!!1

Really hope the referee is fair. The state of some of the penalty decisions that Wrexham have been given in the last few weeks have been outrageous.17

Pressure is all on them to keep that 2nd spot just like it was all on Wycombe a few days ago. We can go there with a bit of freedom knowing we are in the playoffs anyway and going up automatically is a bonus.
2-1 Addicks.6 -
Short of a broken leg, I'm sure Lloydie will play. Mbick to come on, frighten their defence as much as he does ours, and bag a brace. 0-2 to leave them needing to win on last day at Lincoln.2

I'm not particularly nervous about tomorrow.
If we lose we're in the playoffs, which in December looked impossible.
If we win and Wycombe lose I will be more nervous as then it will be in our own hands and we'll be favourites and the expectation adds to the pressure.
Hopefully I'll be very nervous next Saturday. 😬3 -

We will have the last laugh though...0 -
The fixture compiler is a genius, L1 comes to a conclusion in the last 2 weeks with all the promotion hunters colliding in one way or another and Lincoln holding a key role against Stockport (a) then with Wrexham (h), you couldna make it up
We'll beat Wetham and then beat Burton, while Wetham will lose to us and then Lincoln and we get auto promotion as Lincoln and Orient beat Stockport .. just watch4 -
