Our record against the top sides is very good ... and better than Wrexham's (and will stay better than theirs regardless of what happens tomorrow).
There is no reason why we would go into this match with an inferiority complex and after Monday's shellacking of Wycombe we should feel we can take on anyone and win.
It's a "must win" for us in terms of an automatic spot and this is where we have an advantage over Disney FC: if they miss out on automatic promotion they'll see it as a disappointment being in the play-offs given they've been top two practically all season; if we miss out on going straight up we'd still celebrate being in the play-offs considering where we were after Crawley at home in December. Missing out on the top two won't be as big a disaster for us as it would be for them.
I'd say the pressure is on the oppo tomorrow and they hint coped very well in recent weeks. If we can get a good press going high up the ground we can force them into mistakes and if we get the first goal then they should know it's goodnight cos we don't lose points from that position!
Great graphic that Briston! Funnily enough it's much better in the quote box BEFORE you post the reply!
All I did was copy the mini-league table and I couldn't be arsed to put that in quotes.
My original comment attached to the table on the other thread was that it was nice to see we've been getting results against the teams at the top around us and not just flat-track bullies getting our points against the bottom teams whilst struggling against the top sides.
This time I made a different set of comments specifically relating to tomorrow
Another test, nothing to lose so I hope we go at them and grab an early goal. Shame Wrexham is a dump, but no one can change that, been like it for years.
I’m weirdly not even nervous. I’m starting to feel the confidence in this team that I felt back in 2019.
There are two potential outcomes in my mind:
1. we batter them like we did Wycombe 2. a narrow defeat or draw
We are pleased to just be here at this point, given the way things looked in December.
Bottom line is that I’m incredibly proud of the team NJ is building and the outcome of tomorrow’s match isn’t going to change that.
Feel that way about the whole season and promotion picture. Last time it felt like do or die for the clubs future, this time although I’ll obviously be absolutely gutted if we don’t, it won’t feel like the clubs future is in the balance if we don’t go up. It will still have been a good season and we will be in a great place to attack the top 2 next season and get over the line
Well what a win the Wycombe game was. Just hope we haven't finished them off as I still think a Wycombe win will ruin the afternoon for those in red at the circus. No promotion, no Disney TV special, go to Lincoln and suffer. Think Monday might have depleted our squad to a limping team whoever turns out. 4-2 to Wrexham and lets enjoy that Stockport away end again.
Listening to White and Jordan this afternoon on Talksport. They spent a while discussing how good it will be if Wrexham get a third promotion. They could watch another Wrexham video about it. How I would love to put a blight on that idea, even if it is Wycombe and not us to second place
Had trouble sleeping recently so just done a restorative and yin yoga session. 1000 petal lotus flowering etc and deep joy spreading to the world.
Apart from that is, that part of the world which supports Wrexham, and to a lesser extent Wycombe both of which are being laid waste by the energy of the dragon which I have turned upon them.

YELLOW!!
If that's not asking too much.
Game tomorrow, not quite circus but very dancey!

If Wrexham lose again next week
If Wycombe draw both games
We'll all have 86 points
We'd need to win 4-0 tomorrow to overturn Wycombe's better GD.
A somewhat unlikely set of results though
