Hoping it's not true bit if it is we absolutely have to play Mitchell in the middle of the back 3. He may not have thebpace or the ability on the ball but we need his aerial strength, physicality, leadership, commitment and organisation at the back. Gillesphey and Ramsay can do the work on the ball.
The alternative is to put Gillesphey in that role and Edwards at LCB with Watson at LB. But I'd rather not.3 -
I would much much rather your second option than play someone who has barely played any minutes in months and has looked shakey at best when he has0

McIntyre seems to have a good game and then a poor one and is due a good one!0
-
is it possible then, to play him this week when he impresses, and then lend him to Wrexham for next weekMuttleyCAFC said:McIntyre seems to have a good game and then a poor one and is due a good one!

One thing is for sure, we won't learn anything from Nathan today

Thoroughly deserved. Him signing a new deal was a great but of business.7

I'm not convinced he looks too impressed.1 -

Not going to happen when there are other wingers and attacking midfielders with a lot more goals and assists. Not doubting how vital he is to us, but he’s still improving that area of his game, others have been doing it all season.DOUCHER said:TC should be in that team as well3 -
we'll have to disagree - TC was carrying us first half of the season and when NJ finally realised we needed 2 TC's , rather than more defensive stodge, was when our season came alive - ryan giggs was always rated highest by alex ferguson, above all the other greats he had - a player who can go past people and make things happen is the most critical ingredient in any side - the rest are the supporting cast - without messi, that barcelona team would not have been the same, without Henry, the same for Arsenal - the reason man city have hit the buffers this year is they have too many passers and not enough pace / ability to go past people and became too easy to stop - they're addressing that now but won't be 'ripping it up' until they have that sorted - if we don't go up, i'm pretty sure TC will be off and so will small and TC for a big transfer fee that will be far higher than most in that league 1 team of the seasonScoham said:

I have no doubt Jones has been the best L1 centre half this season.
What amazes me is that a significant minority of Charlton fans couldn’t see that he is our player of the season.7 -
Lloyd Jones has had a fantastic season and is absolutely vital to our team - he's as brave a player as i've ever seen play for us and aerially and physically dominant, exactly what u need from a league 1 centre half - he 100% should be in the league team of the season but so should TC2
-
TC has been brilliant in 15% of games
ok in 70%
and guff in 15%
nowhere near enough consistency at the upper end of his game , he looks shot to bits recently7 -
Like I said he’s vital to us, I agree on your general point. I’m only saying I’m not certain he’s the best player of his type in the league. There are others who offer the pace and ability to take players on that he does, and have scored and created more. If he had scored double figures and got more assists he’d have probably made the team of the year.DOUCHER said:

Well done Lloyd 👏 👏0

We are in agreement generally but id just say however that TC’s stats were hampered by an overly defensive set up in the first half of the season anc where he was the only target for the oppositions defences - not many of his peers had to deal with thatScoham said:

That interview left me with 0 doubt he's fit, him not playing Saturday was about resting him and giving Mitchell minutesWillmoreTheRed said:My god we need him fit and ready in the play off games.3 -
Yep sounds like he’s ready to go. COYRs1

Good interview with Lloyd, Kayne and Adam Coe (Head of Medical and Charlton fan).

Said at the end of Cawley’s new pod that he had a 5-6cm fracture in his leg and was playing through the pain at Wrexham. I’m no medical expert but I think that officially gives him a diagnosis of “hard as nails”13

I would have gone with "mad bastard" myself but I'm not a doctor so...fenaddick said:Said at the end of Cawley’s new pod that he had a 5-6cm fracture in his leg and was playing through the pain at Wrexham. I’m no medical expert but I think that officially gives him a diagnosis of “hard as nails”

The type of player that every club needs in their first eleven.fenaddick said:Said at the end of Cawley’s new pod that he had a 5-6cm fracture in his leg and was playing through the pain at Wrexham. I’m no medical expert but I think that officially gives him a diagnosis of “hard as nails”0
