Despite originally having a ticket for Wrexham today I had to be in NYC instead (probably for the best, as it turned out!). Went to see NY Red Bull v Montreal. I think this is the fifth MLS game I’ve seen, standard still seems to be somewhere between L1 and the Championship (although both teams that I saw today are having bad seasons).
Game finished 1-0 to NY, although the biggest shock was the cost of a beer was $21. Whilst I’m used to that silliness at NFL games, this is very much not the NFL. So I only had two.
The Red Bulls stadium is actually in New Jersey, about 20 mins by train from the World Trade Centre in lower Manhattan.
Brentford are hosting 3 internationals in late May if anyone wants their 92 tick - but it is £42 a ticket. That's for Trinidad v Jamaica, Ghana v Nigeria, then a final for the winners. https://www.eticketing.co.uk/brentfordfc/Events
I went to a female international there so Wrexham got me to 88/92 which is the highest I've reached. I think I'll be back down to 85 or 86 with Everton's move and the non league switches.

Good shout, I need Brentford’s new stadium for my 92. Nigeria v Ghana sounds tasty!

Cheeky b******* giving the tip option as well!
I actually gave a tip (20% or something) despite the fact that it was the “self serve beer zone” so there were no actual staff, not sure what’s wrong with me.
The stadium was about 1/3 full yet the seats next to me were taken…by a couple form wales! The fella couldn’t get over the cost of a beer versus what he’s used to paying in Wales!
Santa Cruz are one of a growing trend here where they do not issue tickets, you must register on FutebolCard and have your picture taken on your phone. Once you have done this then you can purchase your ticket on the app.
You then have facial recognition at the turnstile, there were big problems at a previous game where the system was not working properly. I will not be turning up 5 minutes before kick off!
At First Vienna FC, Austria’s oldest team & founded by Englishmen (hence the name of the team is in English). The songs the fans sing are in English (“the greatest team the world has ever seen…”etc).
Vienna lost 1-0 in a performance so lacking in creativity that Charlton Athletic would be proud of it. Luckily the beer was cheap and the gluh wine was warm.

Looks like a nice little ground.
It’s actually the former national stadium of Austria (pre-1960’s or something). You can’t see it in the photos too well but the in real life you can see that the grassy banks are just overgrown terraces from decades ago. It’s a bit like watching a football match in a museum of former glories.
Had a beer with a guy pre-game who was a Uni masters student & there to study “nature in football stadiums” or summit’ ridiculous like that.
"nature in football stadiums", I cannot even begin to think what that is.
Santa Cruz v Sousa in a division 4 game two days ago.
This is one of a few that use facial recognition to get in, you have to register with FutebolCard and then they ask for your photo. You then apply for the match ticket, this is kept in your order folder. I was concerned that there could be problems getting in but checked with their ticket office and they said there was no problems, a smooth process tbf. I spoke to a couple of fans before the game and they said this was only the second game for this system and they agreed it was a case of big brother looking over you.
Santa Cruz are top of the table and easily won this game 2-0, Sousa missed an open goal, one of the worst/best I have seen, the whole crowd burst out laughing.
