But if he’s motivated by money as you suggest, then surely he does regret the move because he could have made so much more money had he moved to the right club at the right time.
Not trying to protect Parker here (I was devastated when he left mid season) but we have no idea what he was promised by Chelsea. Maybe they convinced him he was going to be the main man and therefore were ‘the right club’.
Yeah…what’s that got to do with whether he regrets it or not though?

I always felt Chelsea's buying strategy at that time was more to do with stealing the best players from their competitors than having a clear strategy for building their own team. For a year or so we came up on their radar and we paid the price. Quite possibly, so did Parker.

Loved watching Simonsen far too good for the rest team but didn’t play enough games for me to consider him DiCanio is a good shout but will stick with Parker
Should have stayed for the season and then gone to Man Utd to replace Keane who left that season.
Can think of 3 English players who would have had a much better career if they worked under SAF.
Gascoigne, Shearer, and Parker.
Ferguson would have loved Scott, but I don't think he would have been one of the 1st names on the team sheet. Darren fletcher was an underrated replacement for Keane and there would have been tough competition to get in the starting line up, however much he would have improved.
I'd have felt proud to see parker in a united shirt and getting his name on trophies but it wasn't to be.
Parker would probably be one of few players to not have some Scottish bloke going absolutely nuts at him after every game.
