Don’t think we will …. Said that around Xmas that get our injuries sorted we will make the play offs but don’t think we would win them …I am not changing my thinking ….. not sure why people wanted Wycombe we beaten them twice it’s going to be very tough to beat a team 3 times in a season … just think the little niggles we been getting and the tiredness in some of the players may have caught up with us .. and in all honesty are we championship ready the answer is no, is it ever to early to get promoted ( unless you get 90 mill parachute money ) ? Will it do us more harm than good to go up and come straight back down?
Whatever happens the players, management and the owners deserve massive credit and if we are league one again then we have a squad that just needs adding to with 3/4 very good starters coming in, plus of course gives our excellent young players another year to push into the first team, where promotion might see the young players suffer in their progress..

Football is governed by the football gods. And they have a dark sense of humour. After a thumping 4-0 away win in a promotion six pointer, they will find it amusing that just weeks later, Charlton will loose on penalties after two goalless draws.
Remember how they punished Pardew for his silly dance.

A player coming on "cold" and barely touch the ball before the shootout is not something that usually ends well. The occasion can be too much to adapt to in that situation. If you want to bring someone on to take a pen give them 10 mins on the pitch first to adapt to the atmosphere and get some touches. 2) experience over flair. No problem with young players taking pens but they have to be core players not squad players. TC for example I would expect to be in the mix to take one if he's still on the pitch. But Kanu/Mbick etc. I wouldn't want to. The second part of it is experienced defenders are underrated in shootouts. Keepers don't know where they're gonna go and often they just nail it rather than over complicate it.
Godden is good for a pen. Expect Doc to step up as skipper. Gilly and Berry as regular set piece takers and experienced. Outside of that TC is an option, Cov maybe? I worry about Chuks keeping a cool head with the pressure he has been putting on himself to score and impact games. Ramsay is a pretty decent shout has exceptional technique. Can see Jones taking the "just nail it" approach. Edwards maybe. Not confident in Small or Karoy. Gilbert is an option as he takes a good dead ball but I worry about the experience/temprament point. Wouldn't want any of our young bench strikers to take one. I expect they've tacked shootout training on to every session since playoffs were confirmed.

If more than those 6 are needed either due to sudden death or some not being on the pitch I guess the next in line would be Jones, Aneke, Gilbert, Edwards. Then if really needed Karoy, Small, Kanu.
Again just my opinion based on the points I made above about what I think works in a shootout and my perceptions of the squad.
TCs penalty history is not great. I am not convinced he should take it. Jones showed vs Wycombe he has a decent strike and Gillesphy has to take one. I reckon Godden, Jones, Gilly, doc, Berry.
I never expect us to win playoffs but always hope we do. Nothing has changed this year.
Earlier in the year I thought we'd narrowly miss out on the playoffs. Instead we narrowly missed out on automatic promotion.
This is my view. This playoff place is for me a huge bonus. When NJ joined I thought that this season was going to be a bit too soon for him to do his stuff. I expected us to be just falling short of 6th place. By October I wasn’t at all convinced he was going to get it right at all. Didn’t want him sacked because we do need to keep our managers longer than ten minutes. Should we fail this time around I’m now fairly sure that we’ll be up there competing top six and if Jones is given some support in the window then challenging top two.
Don't know: Too many variables like fitness of CAFC main players - are we now on our reserve tank- and cafc fans who think that Wycombe will be as mediocre as they were at the valley plus as poor as they were at Home in the 4-0 drubbing may be in for a surprise?
But on the other hand the wheels may have come off for Wycombe where we just have a slow junction; while we have the AA* main man, Golden Godden we are still on the right road and moving into the fast lane.
