  • I’ve logged on a couple of times this week just to look and once a ticket did pop up and I put it in my basket for @golfie but when I went to check out it said ‘seat unavailable’. It’s very much hit and miss and you could log on a number of times and not get lucky. Personally I think less than 500 will be released at 11am tomorrow as most season ticket holders who bought elsewhere have now got there own seat sorted and as the released one has become available it’s been snapped up.
I think more will be free as a large number will have simply been satisfied with the seats they did get - especially if buying for a few extra friends/family to attend with them.

I’d be surprised if it’s a sell out early tomorrow. I note the club haven’t said how many sold all week for some reason.
And even if it sells out tomorrow I'd expect returns to dripfeed onto the ticket site periodically over the next week, but not in the volume we've seen this week.

Ed Warwick on the cast Q&A suggesting there were issues with the IT provider for the ticketing software and offering an apology for issues caused. Gavin Carter then said that demand was higher than 2019 and expressed his thanks to the ticket office staff and was keen to point out that it wasn't their fault
  • Warwick then said in the first 2 days we sold 19,000 tickets

At which point the stadium map suggested a sell-out, which would imply that half of season ticket holders didn’t buy their reserved seat. That seems a lot.

I see no reason he’d lie?

Warrick also claimed that you can’t segregate the JS Stand with 2,000 away fans. I’m not sure that’s correct and I believe we’ve done it in the past, although it does put pressure on the facilities on the west side.

Not suggesting he was. But if they had sold 19,000 tickets then there were still 4,500-plus reserved.

Of course that number would have reduced since Monday as people reclaimed their ST seats.
  • It was just mentioned on commentary of the Bristol C v Sheff Utd , that City had reduced United allocation to 2,000 because they wanted their fans in the same end.
  • @Oggy Red are you making it back mate?
  • And PPS.

My gripe isnt really about not being able to buy a ticket......iI'm pretty certain I'lm be able to get one tomorrow. Its more about all the fuss that has been made by ST holders buying tickets in other areas & then wanting to change them for their own seats once all the panic died down and therefore delaying all the non ST holders from buying theirs.

I am part of the silent majority......just don't like being silent !
I think that makes you part of the vocal minority, not that I wish to argue…… !

Maybe not so surprising on reflection.

As a ‘senior’ representative he’d be ballparking any numbers quoted ie not too specific and that number would be more in line with the Burton takeup ?

It implies 50% of ST holders failed to use the platform as anticipated or took opportunity to sit with additional ‘mates’.

It’s  plausible given the potential for misinterpretation/ misunderstanding of the official comms on ticketing and casual use of ‘general sale’ as a term.

I reckon @golfie will be proved right (ish) !

Not really! The link to booking your own seat was hidden in the profile section and there was no other way to buy your seat. Most fans assumed that the game would sell out and therefore, without any other evidence, it's rational to assume that 50% found the link and 50% went to buy wherever they could find a seat near to where they wanted.

Elsewhere you state that there's no "collective memory" within the club as if this is a bad thing! As long as there are lessons learnt in terms of comms, allocations and the technical side then ideally we will all enjoy a much better experience should we win through to Wembley. The quicker we see 2020-2023 disapear into the rear view mirror the better.

This isn't rocket science and doesn't require a middle manager to be employed 12 months a year. Yes, we're selling out for the first time since 2019 with 19,000 sold in 48 hours, whereas the box office experience will normally cater for 4-5,000 sales in the two weeks lead up to the game.

This is no defence of the executive - just stating that people are navigating their way through and that there's ample opportunity to improve. Along with giving consideration to the choice of ticketing sustem for next season and associated operating model. This isn't rocket science, but demanding perfection on every occasion really is the enemy of the good - Voltaire.
  • Tomorrow we'll see the scale of the season ticket seats not purchased, in most part due to owners being unable to crack the code on the ticket website, in lesser part just not being able to make it on a school night. There should be plenty of prime seats up for grabs.
  • Was this supposed to be for season ticket holders only this period?  I'm a bit concerned now that I don't have an ST and might get the ticket taken away again .....  :s
Seats not belonging to season ticket holders have been on general sale all week and this process has not ended... it's just that the supply of them is now dependent on someone cancelling/replacing such tickets and dropping them back into the general pool.

Season ticket holders' seats can also be purchased now, but only by the holders. Until Friday 11am that is - when any unsold will be added to the general sale.

The wording from the club suggests no tickets are on general sale at present but this isn't the case.

    @golfaddick
Ok, I stand to be corrected if this is the case. But that is not what has been put out by the club (as confirmed by @clive earlier) and not my experience when logging on periodically through the day......about half a dozen times today so far. All I see is a stadium map all greyed out. Not once since Tuesday have I seen a single seat available.....and probably logged on over 30 times since then.

    As I said......its probably me.

And PS. I am thankful for the offers of tickets that people on here have generously said that they will purchase for me. Perhaps part of me doesn't want to be sitting next to someone who them knows who I am. Not really wanting to be "outed" iyswim....😄.
I'd love to get you on my vlog one day mate, can do a Golfie reveal special and find something to moan about Charlton related together, shouldn't be too difficult.

Or you can always wear a hockey mask or something, that might even be better 😂
Get him on if we win the play offs, so he can moan about how we didn't score enough goals during the season!
