Sounds like Asiimwe is playing well? Think he’s done well to force himself into the starting 11, shows great character

Not really been utilised enough this half, but the last few minutes he's really gotten into the match.

It's pretty sad that instead of watching the el clasico with goals galore I'm sitting here watching the first leg of the league 2 semi final between Chesterfield and Walsall.

Just seen a clip and the joy on Asiimwe's face when celebrating the second was great

Walsall finally won last week, which seems to have woken them up from their horrendous run!

    FT 0-2

Another away win makes it four from five.

Hopefully we make it five from six.

Chesterfield have had a couple of efforts. One hitting the cross bar but Walsall have been the better team even without hardly any possession, helps getting that 1st goal in the first 30 minutes. Matt Sadler's team takes a two goal lead back to the home of the Saddlers.

One game left to ensure all away sides come away from the first leg with a result.

Might regret it tomorrow, but given how he took charge of our game against Bristol Rovers, I am so relieved to have someone like Hallam as our referee!!
    What are you doing?!
Yes... Because Hallam is going to be on CharltonLife tonight going:

"Hehe yeah I'm gonna make FA regret that one"
Seems that he's made me regret that one!!

Genuinely disappointed with the referee tonight after that display that we've just had to endure, he gave me hope that we had some decent referees coming into the game with previous playing experience

All 6 games played so far and not one home winner

Since all fans were allowed back in to stadiums post-Covid (no reduced home crowds)

2024 season first legs: 2 home wins, 2 draws, 2 away wins (Bolton, Doncaster)

2023 season first legs: 4 home wins, 2 draws, 0 away wins

2022 season first legs: 4 home wins, 1 draw, 1 away win (Forest)

2025 season first legs so far: 0 home wins, 1 draw, 3 away wins (Sheff Utd, Sunderland, Wimbledon)

This season’s away winners (3 of 4) have already matched the total number of away winners from the last three seasons combined (3 of 18). It’s traditionally quite hard to win that first leg away from home.
So over the last four seasons, out of 24 games:

    10 home wins (41.6%), 7 draws and 7 away wins (29.2% each).

Much more like a normal breakdown of 1X2 results that you’d get across a season. We needed a season of away wins and draws to balance out all the home wins from previous years… :-)

Bristol City really need to start taking these chances, the way they've started, an early goal could make Sheff Utd very nervous

Shame the referee didn't spot the shirt pull on the Goalkeeper again, that was two corners Sheff Utd got away with doing that

Would fancy the Blades to take care of either Sunderland or Cov too. Plenty of experience and quality at their disposal
  • Bristol City, poor sods. 6-0.

There is a long term ongoing joke going on, on Social Media, about the fact that its nearly always Bristol City and Preston North End that are fighting for 12th in the Championship.

Seems that Sheff Utd havent won at Wembley since 1925

Going to be a brutal Final at Wembley if they face Sunderland, who have only the one Play-Off Final win, and never in the Championship, its a game they'll somehow both lose.

Current most consecutive seasons in Championship are Bristol City, Preston & QPR with 11 seasons now, with Millwall and Middlesbrough on 9.

They can regroup in the second set though.
