All Wycombe fans saying that is the best they’ve played in a long time. Yet wasn’t are greatest yet still nearly nicked it. Roll on Thursday
If that is playing well no wonder they can't sell tickets.

It does seem really hard to grow football fanbases in "new" areas, away from the football heartlands.

Wycombe have had decent success for 20 years as an EFL club, yet still get small crowds. MK Dons are an even more extreme example, made more obvious by their massive stadium.
  • I am not at all sure that Wycombe have anything more positive to offer regarding their current playing style than we saw yesterday ……..whereas we most certainly do.
    UP THE ADDICKS.👊👊👊
  • Official attendance of 6,585 (1,848 away end).

    Embarrassing from Wycombe fans.
So 4737 home fans in attendance last night. Are 3/4 of those numbers gonna turn up on Thursday to fill the Jimmy Seed 🤔.. I don’t think so. Split the JS to allow more noise into the Valley COME ON CHARLTON

  • Although I’m surprised at the low attendance that  Wycombe had at home, we had just under 15,000 against Shrewsbury 7 years ago in the play off first leg. We’re not really ones to talk are we?
The only attendance stat that matters is this season.

    Wycombe had 6,585 yesterday.

Next Thursday, we will have as close to 27,111 as possible (minus the ones we've lost from safe standing).

Bloody stupid rule if the FA can't overrule the ref and issue retrospective reds for both Kone and Udoh, two thugs and not footballers in the real sense of the word.
We can all see that the assaults were deliberate and so where's the problem in getting the right punishment sorted, we could have seen Ramsey seriously injured with a ruptured achilles...
    Rules eh...🤷‍♂️

  • I think we need to remember that Wycombe have been above us for the vast majority of the season and all this 'how are they allowed to be playing us' stuff is a bit out of order. There is no guarantee what will happen on Thursday night and I wonder if one or two of ours might get a little spooked by having a big crown full of expectation.
They’ve been in the championship more recently than us, and apart from this season finished above us comfortably the last two.

Ultimately as much as we are in a very strong position, it ain’t going to be easy Thursday. But lucky we have Jones as manager who I’m pretty sure won’t be concentrating on the amount of fans that Wycombe have or the quality of their stadium.

I think it's more a measure of how much their form has dropped off since Dodds took over. Basically anything would've been an improvement on their recent games.

Dodds has only won 7 of 19 games there, and they've only scored 6 goals in their last 10 games. If Bloomfield was still manager, i think Wycombe would've gone up instead of Wrexham.

Hopefully Wycombe will not need half the away end and more Charlton fans can attend.

Grimmer - a case of nominative determinism if ever there was one - was a filthy, balding c**t. His double assault of TC was a red card if VAR was being employed.
and yet that "expert" on Sky said he was her ManOf the Match!
  • Bigger crowds guarantee absolutely nothing. Leeds, Derby and others are case studies of that.

It’s all about what the players do on the pitch.
Hostile bigger crowds can make a difference.
  • Couldn’t understand why we didn’t change our throws into their box.

We were in the middle of a boycott and playing below the level the club should be. Wycombe are on an upward trajectory with a rich owner and a chance to play in the highest division they've ever played in, the two aren't really comparable
Must have been boycotting for a fair few games this season as well then. And the last, and the one before that.

  •  for those watching at home be grateful you were not there and thank your lucky stars your ear drums missed out on the 1986 MegaDeath album we were subjected to at half time.

The most bizarre show of half time music ever played, particularly given setting and fanbase. My ears are still badly ringing this morning.

    Bizarre place Wycombe.
The duality of man. Another man's trash is another man's treasure.

Brilliant interval music. Especially 'No easy way out' by Robert Tepper. Very literal as there really is no easy way out of Adams Park

Always going to be higher attendances in the play offs, especially in L1. Get promoted and we’ll be closer to 20k regularly I hope

Yes but this is Fortress Valley AND a bigger crowd. Two home defeats all season, last one on 3rd December, unbeaten in the last 15 at the home of football and we've already beaten them home and away. That's not to say that we are certainties because we aren't but Wycombe's decline has coincided with Kone only scoring two in his last 14 matches. Keep him quiet as we have in all three games against them this season and we will hold all the aces.
