Those watching on TV, should we have got a handball penalty second half.  At the ground it looked like their defender controlled a ball with his hand after it bounced off his thigh in the box at one point.

How on earth someone has given Docherty a 9 on the player marks thread is diabolical. He did ok last 30 minutes but was awful before that
Yes and No. Every time he got the ball he was always looking to go backwards, which is very unlike him. He'd clearly been given specific instruction.
I called it at the start. Thought we'd nullify them for 75 mins. Give Small some minutes and try a nick a slender lead at the end and it nearly worked.
Personally think we've got a couple more gears. Not sure Wycombe have?
i think we have got a couple more gears to go up if small and chucks are back but to say docherty's first instinct isn't to go backwards to look for a  safe pass would be wrong - he's a very limited footballer
Aneke was not on the bench today, injured for a change perhaps.
    Suspended

Taking nothing for granted, but the draw as a minimum we wanted and with a max 3 wins on the bounce this season being our norm am happy with this draw having won last time out. Two wins on the bounce now please gaffer! Gritty performance with some dangerous moments against a more resolute Wycombe.

A bouncing Valley to come and cannot wait.

Aneke still suspended after Leahy got him sent off in the 4-0. Should be available for the 2nd leg.
NB Weegie Addick and BedsAddick quicker on the draw !!!

Kone should have gone for that tackle on Ramsey.
shame he was booked for it as I think he would have got a retrospective ban.
    Ref was dire.

With VAR the Kone tackle would have been a straight red. With VAR the elbow in the head might have been as well (yellow at least).

Who else thought Grimmer was MOTM?
Co-commentator has to give it to a home player. As none really stood out she just pick a name out. Another 10 mins & Norris would have got it
I can't agree with this. I think Grimmer was their best player in BOTH matches at their place this season. I'd be more than happy to have him as our right back if we needed to make a signing.
If it has to go to a home player then she definitely got it right.
Grimmer played well. He dominated TC all night.

PWR - firstly it hasn’t rained for weeks yet I have to drive the last 20 miles through the East Sussex countryside in a thunderstorm of biblical proportions. I mean wtaf?

As for the game. Well it went as I expected. Would have taken a 0-0 before kick off. It wasn’t pretty but we finished the stronger and from about 80 minutes onwards I really thought we’d nick it. The ref was bloody awful and in my opinion Kone should have seen red. We restricted them to very little, one Odoh shot clumilsy spilled round the post by Mannion. Defended well, midfield was bypassed too much first half but once the subs were made that improved and we got a foothold in the game. In our hands now on Thursday, need to go and finish the job.

Don’t know what Richie Wellens the O’s boss would have made of it but he didn’t seem too impressed with the burger he bought, smothering it in Tommy K after he’d removed the onions. If he’d any sense he’d have left early to beat the traffic.

Never liked Wycombe (except when we beat them 4-0).
Delighted to get through that ordeal unscathed, especially as we finished strongly. Great to see Small back in action.

Stood up to their bully boy tactics. Awful refereeing.

We needed a spark somewhere. TC needs to stop cutting back.
Drop TC to the bench & use him as an impact sub with 20 to go.

Play Dixon instead. Give them something different & unknown to deal with.
So the poor lad gets lumps kicked out of him for 70 minutes in an important game, after having hardly any first team football. Way to destroy his confidence Golfie.

Wycombe should be starting the second leg with two suspended. Kone should have walked - he had three separate jumps at Ramsay, missed with the right boot, stamped on his heel with the left, missed again with the right - and Udoh led with the elbow so blatantly he wasn't even looking at the ball. The ref must be the only person not to have seen any of it.

My elderly mother is not a football expert in any way shape or form. But she now thinks Wycombe are a bunch of thugs and said "he was the worst" when Sky gave man of the match to Jack Grimmer. She also commented that the ball was always in the sky, which I can't disagree with.

Game plan from them appeared to be "Charlton are better than us so let's just turn it into a scrap". They stopped us but created very little themselves. I was impressed with us today - less wise players would have got sent off for retaliation off the back of some of the treatment we were getting. I really think getting it to penalties is Wycombe's best chance, but I can't see them keeping us out for another 120 minutes.

Hate being confident. Always comes back to bite you on the arse.

Nicholas Jackson’s forearm red today against Newcastle, was less dangerous

Content with the draw and would have taken it before the game. We have a much higher level than that, I don't believe Wycombe do anymore.

Kone should have seen red, and tbh, we should have tried to wind him up more. Proper hot head and couldn't handle how he was being exposed by two class defenders in Ramsay and Jones. Gone missing twice in a row, let's hope it's 3 in a row Thursday.

    The positives:

    - Clean sheet, our defence is our strength, just class

    - Fans. I've never heard us that loud and at it and hour before kick-off, was quality. Bit quiet in patches, but I'll put that down to the games tempo and nerves

    - Wycombe look deflated. That's a team to me who look like there season is ready to be over, our lads look a lot more game.

    The negatives:

    - The performance itself. It was either strategically by Jones (I'm leaning towards this) or, we were a bit nervous.

    - Midfield anonymous. A complete lake of composure most of the game from Docherty, Coventrys passing wasn't up to much either. Both need to be better

Start Small over Watson, attack them from the off with a packed out crowd getting behind the team, and I can genuinely only see one winner.

Roll on Thursday, good day out 👍🏻

Just finished watching as I slept through the live broadcast (lucky Bein lets you watch replay).
    Embarrassing game...
Can't blame the Wycombe supporters for not turning up to a home playoff semi. They must have known something about their team...
We would have won in red. Can't stand that yellow, it make us look like a bunch of back packers in a farming tournament.

Did anyone else who watched it on sky wonder why they asked Lee Bowyer along.
I believe it was a secret screen test to see how he'd get on as the new Colin Robinson in What We Do In The Shadows.

I didn't think the pattern of the game was that dissimalar to the 0-4 in many ways.
Then, we got a set piece goal  and a tremendous strike from a loose ball to put us 0-2 up and they were deflated and on the back foot. Today, we couldn't buy a break.
I have to say their hoofing or chipping it up to the forwards, hoping to win headers and second balls was so frustratingly tedious.
I think Nathan's post game interview was pretty spot on this time, it was a war of attrition and we did need a bit more quality. But make no mistake, we had to battle and work hard for that draw and clean sheet though.

What can be done to turn Tyreece into the player he is capable of becoming.
    He struggled again today.
He is obviously a confidence player. If only we could inject the cocksure self-belief of Lyle Taylor or the presence and resilience of Yann into him.

@Alwaysneil I told you things would go smoothly B)
Mmm, 0-2 i think you promised. But i am happy with 0-0 as i feared a 2-0 reverse and had a shit day yesterday generally so was not in a great frame of mind in the run up to the game.

Shame we couldn't nick a goal but with a full strength starting 11 we should hopefully be too strong for these cheating scum even if some of our players are clearly not big game players but bottlers.

Sunday’s showdown at Wycombe had more in common with the NFL than the EFL — less Tiki-Taka, more Tick-Tack-Tussle. Their lads must’ve trained with the Dallas Cowboys, as their quarter-backs launched a barrage of aerials, cutting through us like linebackers on a mission.

For large parts, the ball spent more time in the stratosphere than on the grass. Head tennis, kick-and-chase, and the occasional Wimbledon-style rally — complete with love-alls. Despite the chaos, it was advantage Addicks, as we grew into the match. Nathan, fingers taped like a man not to be trusted near sharp objects, prowled the touchline with the intensity of a caffeinated red bulled jackal.

The substitutions of Small and Anderson brought some actual footballing flair. Had they come on 10 minutes earlier, we might’ve pinched it at the end — but hindsight, like VAR, is no good when it’s too late.

Now it’s back to the Valley on Thursday night, where the forecast promises a balmy sunny evening and hopefully a fiery atmosphere. Do we really need to hand over the whole of the Jimmy Seed to Wycombe again? They barely filled a minibus-worth of seats on Sunday in the stand?  surely we can get 1000 Addicks into the JS next to AC stand?

Tactical hopes? Start Small. Go wide. Attack from the off. Watson wandered more than Wycombe and didn’t offer much. With TC and Small stretching them, we’re a much greater threat — more Red Arrows, less red panic buttons.

It’ll be tense. It’ll be nervy. It may even be 120 minutes of squeaky bum time. Just, please football gods, not penalties. My heart can’t take another 2019.

COYAs — fill  fortress Valley, bring the noise, and let’s make more Wembley memories.

Imagine it would be a case of just dont lose and take them back to The Valley where we are strong.
