I'm aware they've historically been a football league club, they were in the FL for over 100 years. But they're also historically a small lower league club, so it doesn't mean losing to them would be any better than Orient.

I fear both games could go to pens. These winner takes all ‘cup’ ties change the regular dynamics no matter what the managers may want or say. Nerves are heightened, pressures increased and while bigger crowds will motivate some, they risk unnerving others. If it does go to pens, I will be bricking it as other than Godden, Docherty and Berry I have no idea who could take one assuredly. Perhaps Gillesphy - his free kicks considered.0

I think we have more chance against Stockport than o’s
I hope if we win on Thursday we don’t act like some of the muggy Sunderland fans giving it to fat frank and co2 -

I don't care who we beat in the final. I hate this league, for a club of our size and history we have been in it too long and are only in it because some vindictive geriatric old git. Whoever we play in the final the opposition will have more empty seats around them than fans. Its a terrible league, the standard of football is awful and the clubs this far down the food chain seem to me to be content just to exist and not want to entertain and are unable to play a decent game of football. Last Sunday was like most matches I get to watch, two teams unable to string a meaningful attack together with just a a couple of half chances and the occasional speculative shot off target.Roll on August in the championship.2

Indeed many City fans couldn't even be bothered to come down for their FA Cup semi!0 -
Why is The Championship play off final on the Saturday rather than the Monday?
Either way, it’s funny, because if we do get there, we won’t be playing Sunderland but some of their fans will still be around London. If they were playing on the Monday, they’d be loads, as there were with Villa last time.
Does anyone know why it’s been switched with the League Two final? Seems strange not to leave the best until last.3 -

I just cannot see Spurs, Arsenal or West Ham fans wanting to give up a day of their weekend & spend best part of £100 all in (ticket, transport, food, drink) to watch League One football, just because Leyton Orient play close to where they live.I think it is more likely to be like it was when Millwall played at the new Wembley for first time in 2009 v Scunthorpe United. I was one of the 49,661 fans in the Millwall section that day. But I was there because my other half is Millwall & my whole mum’s side is too. 11 of us went together as a family that day, 5 were Millwall season ticket holders, the rest were made up of my nan (who used to go to odd Millwall game each season), two of my uncle’s wives (one goes occasionally, the other not a football fan but had day out), me (Charlton fan there on day out with family), female cousin (who is a Millwall fan that goes once every 10 years) & her husband (a armchair Liverpool fan). I doubt any Palace, West Ham or Charlton fans with no family or friend ties popped along for a day just cos Millwall play near to where they live. It was just a big turn out of their floating support (which is bigger than given credit for, as they’ve only had two good seasons in entire history) & their family & friends.I remember when they played Bradford City, they took just over 28,000. Cos by then it was their 5th visit in 8 years, and tickets were on restricted sale to members only (two tickets per member) because of the trouble with Barnsley inside the stadium the year before. That’s probably more reflective of their ‘active’ support.I am sure friends & family of Orient fans will go along (with some being Arsenal etc fans). I just can’t see unconnected Arsenal etc fans attending for sake of it, now football is quite an expensive day out. I reckon they’ll take 3x their average gate, c24,000. Same formula for us, 3 x 14,000 = 42,000.Anyway, let’s get there first!0 -

Stockport the more solid unit for me. But at Wembley, should we get there solid form can easily go out of the window.
Orient on the other hand are a right mixed bag and have the gung ho mentality that often serves teams well in the big occasions.
Think we've got the tools to deal with both.4 -
I'm amazed at how many people are happy to openly discuss the final as if we're there already. Madness.22

Betfair says 61% Charlton, 39% Wycombe. We have an advantage but it’s still far from over. For context, same place has Stockport at 67% and Orient at 33%.0

Agreed utter madness to be discussing the final!6

Wycombe have been above us in the league all year, bar the final day. There really is no reason why they couldn't turn up tomorrow night and beat us.8

After the Crawley fiasco at the beginning of December Wycombe were top on 39 points, we were 13th on 22. Over the next five months we turned things around and finished a point ahead of them.
We gave them a 17-point headstart and they still blew it.
In Jones (and Dodds 😉) we trust.

Callum posted this on another thread showing how poor Wycombe have been against the better teams, so we should have nothing to fear
Alternatively you could say we underperformed in the first leg

They have lost twice in the league and drawn once this season with us and failed to score on two recent matches.
We will win because we are the better team, we are playing at home and their current form isn't as good as ours. I know that is being big headed but we have beaten better teams this year.2 -
