So how are your nerves?

  • Feel fine. If you can get through St Andrews in 1987 then you can get through anything.

One thing....I think, on balance, I'd rather lose tonight than lose at Wembley.

I'll be on the edge of my seat beside myself. It's the second semi finals of Eurovision Song Contest. It doesn't get more nerve wracking than that.
You want to be making your mind up & watch the match.
  • I am more nervous than on my first day at school, my driving test and pre penalties in the Doncaster game all combined.
in three words "I'm crapping it"

Maybe you should change your name to @larryorcolon
  • I was really busy yesterday, so wasn't really thinking about the game.

And was fine this morning, but the nerves have really set in now. I blame Charlton Life, and all the threads about the game  :D
  • Keep telling myself that in November I didn't see us getting anywhere near this, so enjoy it. That aint worked. Tried telling myself that I remember being at St Andrews and felt like crying when Leeds went one nil up when they weren't in the game but that turned out alright. Tried telling myself that after Naby Sarr's own goal that turned out alright. Nothing is working, we've just got to do the business for two games.
  • Can’t wait - it’s games like tonight that make football the great game it is.

atmosphere should be off the scale
  • I'm currently more nervous about the fact that Chicken George might not be there tonight
  • Not so much now, was really dreading playing County at Wembley with all our connections to the town.
I'm the opposite. Had convinced myself we were going to lose to Stockport in the final, now we're facing 2 games where we'll be the favourites... and I always worry when we're the favourites.
  • Is there a game today?
  • My head is telling me we are the better side, very good at home, have already beaten these twice, etc. But my heart is saying this feels too much like an 'operation' without using the word.

We have to score early in my opinion. If we don't, we could be in for a long night.

I'm excited can't wait !! Its not me playing so no nerves, same as i have no nerves when flying, as the pilot has flown the plane hundreds of times so just let them get on with it. The Valley will be rocking, so as fans we just need to buckle up and enjoy, its nights like this we have all dreamed of over 6 barren years, bring it on.

  • Up to a 9 now. I have a morning of work ahead of me to try and keep my mind off things but by the time I clock off around lunch time to watch the game I expect to be an absolute wreck. I just have this feeling it's all coming crashing down tonight. Everything looks set to be in our favour and that has almost always ended in disappointment where Charlton are concerned, in my experience. Laso, my other team, the Edmonton Oilers, are going great guns in the Stanley Cup play-offs and just can't believe the sporting gods are going to give me two play-off successes in the same season. Of course, the Oilers can go to hell if it means Charlton getting out of this poxy division.

The one bit of solace I am taking is I feel like we are, for once, well placed to have a real proper go at it again next season, making it less essential (but no less desirable) that we get the job done this month.

This fucking sport and team. I love it and hate and need it and just want to pack it all in all at the same time.
  • Probably up to six now... Its the waiting thats starting to eat at me... Just want to get things under way!!
  • I’m already at 8 no clue why, we are the better team, we have the momentum, we are at home infront of a full Valley. What could possibly go wrong ? Nathan get your team in the right headspace and get the match over early ! Then we can all enjoy the night
  • Hitting a 7 right about now. Be alright once I see the pitch.
  • Like everyone I’ve been absolutely buzzing this week but the nerves have hit me like a train in the past hour!

'Good evening sir, I see you have wooden window frames. If you replaced them with double glazing your home would be much more energy efficient. We could also install solar panels to make it even more energy efficient, save you money and you could even sell electricity back to grid and make money.'

I've packed my one and only Charlton scarf.  I have only worn it twice before as I bought it for @addickted 's funeral and then I also wore it to @Cardinal Sin funeral so I am feeling calm as when I put it on later I know the two big men will be cheering us on to victory!

How we wish they were here to do it in person.

    Keep wearing that scarf ❤️
  • I mean  ‘see you at Wembley ‘ from cnuts who don’t even support Orient appearing on my chats , fuck off you’re a spurs/West Ham fan and I don’t wanna socialise with anyone after we’ve lost
  • Not nervous at all. I have complete faith in NJ and the team getting the job done tonight.
    Thanks for delivering.

  • I was not nervous at all before the game, but as it wore on and on I really started to struggle with them.

By about the 65th minute or so I was an absolute mess. But then weirdly after we scored, they all just went.
