Still think he has got the highest ceiling out of anyone in the squad... absolute rolls Royce, even playing out of position
I'm not sure he is playing out of position necessarily just that no one had thought to put him in a RCB role before, he is better there than as a straight RB in my opinion
I agree, I think he's a perfect RCB in this squad. He's playing just like Kyle Walker did for England in Southgate's setup where the team wants to keep it tight and then allow him to creep forward when there's some control established. I think he's still got a lot of learning to do in terms of being a natural centre back with his positioning and his communication with the rest of his defence. He also seems to be happier having a winger outside him than a defender as he still isn't sure when to give up the space and when to step into it on that side but that should all come with time and experience in the role. I've never been totally sure about him as a right back, he's quick enough but rarely drives up the line like Small or even Edwards does, he likes to come inside rather than go out a lot and that's good when he's narrow but not when he's there to provide the width. He tackles and wins one on ones like Solly but he doesn't have that instinct to overlap the player in front of him which makes him less of an attacking threat. Solly really had the makings of the complete full back before the injuries whereas Ramsay has the potential to play in a lot of positions on the pitch and excel, but without having all the instincts in his game that mark him out as truly outstanding in one position. I'm hopeful that Jones keeping him at RCB and working with him will iron out those positional flaws and we'll have a real star on our hands
He's brilliant in that role, as if he has a weakness, it's that in comparison to his defensive ability, he's nothing special going forward. A club playing 433 and looking for attacking threat from their full backs wouldn't be interested.
His biggest flaw is that he holds onto the ball too long. He gets away with it in league one as he stronger/faster than most he plays against and can shield away the attacker. In the premier league that’s a turnover and in a dangerous position

He's good driving forwards into space, creating new attack lines and picking a pass when he does this, and he did it at least twice against Burton, admittedly not the tightest midfield.
He just doesnt do it enough yet or against stronger sides and i think this is an area he will be working on.
Ramsey has had 7/10 season but has areas to improve before he can play at a higher level one of them is trying to play out of defence by beating a player when a good old fashion Jimmy Giles clearance is needed …. Gets away with it in league one but not higher up and that will be his let down ….
He’s a Rolls Royce of a defender - certainly at this level. So good on the ball, his ability to take a touch and always find a bit of space makes me think he could cut it in the league above imo
He’ll have no problem stepping up the Championship as he has so many positives to his game. Some of the weaknesses mentioned are fair, but nothing he couldn’t iron out.
He might look even better at that level we’d be under more pressure defensively and there will be more space in behind teams for him to exploit with his passing and ability to play out and drive into space.
I do prefer him in that RCB role as he does like to move inside and pick a pass over bombing forward, offering width high up the pitch and swinging in crosses. Gives us a nice balance with Small who loves getting forward to shoot or cross, taking players on and throwing in a few tricks.
I think Kone knew he was lucky not to be sent off. Fact he apologised to Ramsay and also as soon as he stamped, he turned to the ref with his hands up. Premier League with VAR and its 99% being turned from yellow to red.
Maybe it is better the EFL looks at putting better refs up than last nights one. With the atmosphere we are going to create , maybe it will help us on Thursday although some of these clowns go against the crowd to show they are strong! They need to just see the big calls right really.
I think with these owners we are in a different position than previous years. Ramsey is a class act and on a long contract I honestly don’t think they would sell him at the moment

Two years left on his contract from this summer, so it would be the ideal time to agree a new contract, but we probably need to go up to have a chance of that
The evidence that we have really turned a corner will be if we can start holding on to players like this - of course we are coming from a lowly position and haven't had the prem tv money but we should be aiming to compete with the likes of Leicester and Southampton
The double block was unbelievable. I've watched it countless times today and I still think they're going to score every time
I do wonder just how much a turning point that was, not just the score but psychologically.
Wycombe clearly planned on scrapping it out and snatching a chance to steal it (which is not a criticism, we've done the same before) but maybe seeing that they wondered if THE chances had just been and gone.

To me the key moment of the game.
Kayne won't be in L1 next season, for his career he needs to play at a higher level.
Need to go up to have a chance of keeping Ramsay. I'll be honest, I think he's nearly as good as Joe Gomez was for us in terms of skillset, and I'd actually say he's better than Konsa was when we sold him.
Difference is of course they progressed much younger. 25 in October our Kayne.
No player has got the better of him in this league and it's gonna take someone very, very good to do so. I'd love to see how he fairs in the championship. I genuinely think after one season he will have a Premier league offer.
How he ended up at Harrogate is beyond me and shows the talents within league 1, 2 and probably even the National League now.

Ramsay and Jones will cruise in the championship. Extremely confident of that. Let's hope they get a chance with us
But if we command a good fee I suppose that's just football
