Soft penalty but just no need for it. You can tell by LJ's reaction to him immediately after that he was furious he took a silly risk.

Funny season for Kayne. Once he gets going, he does something silly or gets injured.

Lloyd had no idea what had or hadn’t happened behind him, not surprised he’s disappointed with the decision but I suspect he’ll look back on it the same way we all have. Lloyd’s made stronger contact with opponents hundreds of times this season and gotten away with it.

It was a clear Oxford tactic to make the most of all contact and the ref buckled at the worst moment. The only way it was a foul is if football is now a non-contact sport.

I've watched it back four times now and I still don't get what Ramsay is supposed to have done. I read people saying he gave the ref a decision to make... By doing what? It just looks like two players coming together and one falling to the floor.

He pushes him with his forearm. It’s soft and not a foul but it’s an unnatural movement that to me looks like he initiates contact

Not even going to criticise Ramsay for that today 99/100 defenders make that sort of challenge on a weekly basis and it’s never given a pen until today. He’s had his bad moments but that’s not one of them, he’s just playing football not his fault the ref thought it was a dance rehearsal

Come on, if he cuts out the silly little errors and gets better in the air he absolutely is capable of being a premier league player

Maybe he should have just let the player run-off him with no pressure, so he'd have a free header if he got to the ball. I'm sure that would have drawn no criticism for Kane at all. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

I can’t ever see a premier league team going for him. But could certainly see him going up with a championship team.

There have been 77 penalties in the Premier League this season. According to Google AI 50 of them, approx 65%, were awarded against defenders. You might want to quibble with the exact numbers, but I think it's pretty clear that Premier League defenders do give away penalties.

I think thats what Corey was saying... You cant really base Ramsay's potential to reach the Premier League based on simply giving away a penalty, as Defenders already give them away in the top flight.

Fair play, silly me, I missed the question mark.

Well actually yes. The player was getting no where near the ball, it was always straight into the Manninon.

Ramsay is definitely not a premier league player but he definitely has the potential to be if he sorts out his heading, and figures out how to be mentally switched on for 90 mins whilst also accepting he can’t run through 5 players like he could in L1
  • I'm sure Ramsay could play in the PL but he'd  be one of the poorer players in it and probably a squad player.

A good yard stick for Ramsay being able to hold his own in the PL is Harry Clarke. They're a similar age and share many of the same physical traits but Ipswich clearly don't think Clarke can cut it at that level.

Would be gutted to see Kayne leave. He's got a high ceiling.
Does he live in a Victorian house?
    Could be Edwardian!

Average Championship RCB for me, at the moment. Would like to see him build on this season and improve, with us.

If Wout Faes can play in the Premier League Ramsay definitely can, just needs a manager to believe in him

Agreed, although his "average" like a lot of averages disguises some quite high highs, and low lows. He definitely has more potential.  Simon Francis was 26 when we hounded him out, and he went off to Bournemouth and became an FAPL regular.
