Do you genuinely believe comms this week has been well handled ?
It's easy for me to say as I got my tickets on Tuesday, they haven't been perfect but I think they've handled it fairly well. The phases were explained clearly and they've continued to update us when required.
They said "Given the exceptionally high demand, we are continuing to request more tickets and will issue a further communication to fans should this request be facilitated"
So it's pretty clear that the lack of communication means the request was denied. I'm not sure why people keep asking for an update when it's obvious they don't have one.

I’d suggest not clear it was a ‘no’. It takes minimal effort to publish a message though however busy they are.

I do wonder if people apply this to their real lives, constant need for updates, hand holding etc.

The Come Fly With Me sketch springs to mind.
”Burger please”
”Burger?”
”Press burger”

In this case however it’s hardly a constant. There have been very few updates.
I’d say less than normally seen when we have an upcoming home game.
I’m not saying constant updates just conclude the message they started.

What updates do they provide before a home game?
Why does it need concluding? It’s sold out and they’ve told us it’s sold out. They will let us know if we get any extra tickets, if we don’t hear anything it means we haven’t got any extra tickets.
I think the only mistake the club have made is foolishly believing people would be able to comprehend that.

Frequent requests to get me to buy a ticket.
Your match day experience etc etc.
The point is it’s easy to say something it’s not onerous.

That’s really not the same thing, is it?
That’s advertising tickets that are for sale and e-mails went out to eveyone yesterday about the match day experience tomorrow.
Sheff Utd and Sunderland, as soon as they sold their allocation directly communicated SOLD OUT. Even if we got the 1400 more, it would have been a nice surprise, even if we had said SOLD OUT. Instead it was ‘we have asked for more’ setting some expectation of maybe. It’s not lying to do as above and then change stance IF more tickets become available.
there is also previous as detailed on here that there is a figure at which tickets will not be made available to other fans, so it was not in CAFC control.
don’t see why people are criticising the club here no matter how frustrated fans without a ticket might be. Wembley and the EFL are 100% to blame on this occasion - not CAFC

It’s clear the clubs organisation has suffered with all the regime changes. Staffing must be a bare bones operation and the absence of comms has been apparent . We penny pinched back in the Glickstein days and went no where. The outcome of this one game will force our owners to dig deeper or bail out.

It honestly could not be any clearer.
Of course it can be made clearer.
Why haven't there been more tickets? Did the club get a reply and from which organisation? If there were not going to be more, make that clear so people can redouble efforts in hospitality areas, or Orient spares.
I have absolutely no doubt that the staff are under huge pressure to make this work, but things can be improved if we get a similar situation. It would be madness for management to think otherwise.

I will say this only one more time as I want to concentrate on a positive build up to tomorrow.
My issue is that they dangled the MAYBE multiple times in their comms. neither Sheff Utd or Sunderland said MAYBE. Stating MAYBE now leads us to ask, why not? Who has stopped us when there are empty seats?
You may disagree and think that we should handle this like adults and not kick the club but the MAYBE is the mistake.

Under promise and over deliver. .
We’re just making things up now.
There is no MAYBE.
There is a “We have requested more and will let you know if we get any more.” If there has been no further communication, what do you think that means?
I’m sorry, and I do feel for the people missing out but sometimes as adults you have to be able to think for yourself and understand what things mean.

Yes it's clear, and this whole farce isn't the clubs fault, but it ends with a promise around 'we will issue a further communication' should the request be facilitated.
To be fair I think the argument from those who are still hoping for tickets is that the above comms was 5pm on Thursday, two days ago, and its now pretty much 24hrs before KO and we're still none the wiser waiting on that 'further communication', even if the answer to our request for extra tickets was a no they could confirm this?

Doesn’t once say maybe in that statement, they have requested but they don’t say they maybe able to get some more. There’s still people selling spares, anyone who needs a ticket should look at this.

You have proved this point admirably throughout this thread. Bravo 👏🏻👏🏻
Oh come on. The use of the words "initial allocation" leads people to think maybe there will be more.
Then when they announced the extra allocation they said they were asking for more, which also suggests maybe there will be more.
If there isn't then that's that, which is surprising to me because last time around Sunderland sold more of their allocation than Orient have now, but we were still given some of their seats late on.
Sheff Utd and Sunderland have a much larger support than Orient so there was no chance that additional tickets would be available as they would both sell out very quickly. Charltons only hope of getting more tickets would have been if Orient returned any that were unsold. The power's that be, not Charlton, decided not to sell those tickets despite Charltons repeated requests, which the club communicated on numerous occasions.

But they didn’t communicate that ‘they’ decided not to sell the additional. All they said was that they have / had asked. Not what the decision was.
And this is the issue. The open ended maybe (we have asked, but I am not going to advise you what the decision was).
We can ASSUME that we are not getting any more now (as they have taken them off sale) but I have not seen a comms that says ‘x have said no, it’s not happening’.
I am not across every channel so apologies if I missed it.

Then they could say that. The club will have to explain it at some point, even if it ends up doing so through CAST. So they may as well do so now.
To me this smacks heavily of comms controlled by people with no comms experience or background.
