  • I'll be on the 8:27 Godalming to Waterloo and straight into Brewdog. First day of nationalised SWR. What could possibly go wrong.
  • Going from Petts Wood via London Marylebone to Wembley Stadium Station.

Arrived nicely from Leeds yesterday. No chance the trains would have got in on time today. London was heaving with Sunderland fans last night, before, during and after the game. Not sure the locals knew what to make of red flares flying up from them every few minutes. Pleased for Sunderland.
  • Quite a few at Manningtree waiting for the first train of the day South with me.
  • Travel information
Trains dep Marylebone at 03,11, 27, 40, & 51 minutes past the hour for the 9 minute journey to Wembley Stadium Station.

At the moment there are minor delays on the Jubilee line due to train cancellations.

    You’re all mad.

Ebbsfleet to Kings Cross. 19 minutes
King’s Cross to Wembley met line 19 minutes.

    Easy
This but starting at Strood. I was surprised how quick the “high speed” was 😬
I have just looked into this route and Railplanner says no trains running directly between these two stations due to engineering work.

I am no expert on public transport but might be worth checking 👍🏻
  • 7.44 from Battle on time ..a few Addicks on here just Pulling into Tunbridge Wells..expecting brother and nephew to get on at Orpington..change at London Bridge for Wembley..daughter driving to Greenwich and direct to Wembley

Come on you Addicks ..have a great day everyone..
  • 8.24 from Arlesey, kings cross, met line to Wembley Park

  • 09:19 from Billericay (or 08:49 if kids get a move on )
  • Well arrived at Bexley village from Hythe, first part of the adventure to get tobWembley completed , the total farce of operation Brock with a whole 7 HGV’s coming down from London says it all? Now onto Bexleyheat
  • Plenty of Charlton at Southampton central this morning. Who knew !
  • Anybody know if Preston Road Station is open after the game?
  • Anybody know if Preston Road Station is open after the game?
I can't see any reason why it would be shut
  • So in the end we took the lift to North Greenwich. Happy to get on an empty Jubilee train- only to realise after a few mins that a Willesden Green  train wont take us to Wembley🤣 on the move again. Loads of Addicks already.

The tribe is on the move!
  • Eltham station absolutely rammed full of Addicks but no one going to the front end of the platform as per

If you're planning on getting the Lizzie line to Farringdon and changing there for the Met line here's a tip for you.

Get on the very back of the train and when you get to Farringdon follow the exit signs to Barbican. Once you go up the first escalator go off to the left and there is a "secret" lift there that takes you straight up to the Westbound Met line platform at Barbican. You don't even have to leave the station. And it means you can get on the Met line train at Barbican one stop earlier than all the melons who got off the same train as you and headed to the Farringdon exit.

If you don't believe me just Google it, or watch this video. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=I6q3S4hR380

    You're welcome!
    Brilliant tip.

  • Plenty of Charlton on the train through Paddock Wood
  • Plenty of fans at Victoria, shouts of Red Army
my god how the train journey to London has changed, middle class families getting on at Peckham! , still looks tired and dirty
The trains are so bloody slow!
used to be able to get to East Croydon to Victoria in 14 minutes in the early 70s  on the fast service from Brighton…. So much for quicker journeys! Paid by contact …. First time , oh well just proves an old man like me  should not be wandering about these days!

On the one an hour later (9.35 Guildford) and a few Charlton, plus a couple Orient. Though I know the 'Ming well as it's where my other half is from and we drink at The Star regularly!
  • Paddington at 10, grabbed breakfast and onto the Bakerloo. Changing at Queens Park as you do. The announcer is enjoying himself. "This isn't your train! No!!!!"
  • Just arrived at Farringdon Underground. Closed for crowd control but is opening in 10 minutes

  • Time for the barbican tip to prove its worth. Sense it could be highlight of the day.
  • Met line very very busy out of Baker Street, might be worth a walk to Marylebone instead

    It's amazing
  • The Victoria/Bakerloo/Marylebone route has been plain sailing so far (am at Marylebone)
